Nadia Pessoa is an award-winning harpist with more than 25 years of experience in providing the soundtrack to unforgettable events. As one D.C.'s most in-demand musicians, she has performed at the U.S. Capitol, State Department, The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, all of the area's leading hotels, and The White House.

Nadia approaches each event with thoughtful and creative attention, and will personally help you select elegant music that is unique, memorable, and can accommodate any size of event and budget.

Select event highlights: Featured harpist at the Meridian Ball, The Inaugural Ball at the Convention Center, where she performed onstage with Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, Ford's Theatre's Gala at the U.S. Capitol, the Shakespeare Theatre's Harman Center for the Arts Gala at the National Building Museum, the Horatio Alger Association Awards, and various corporate and nonprofit galas at Washington National Cathedral.

She served as the harpist for the White House Christmas Party in 2006.

A few of the notable guests she has performed for include: President Joe Biden, First Ladies Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Madeleine Albright, Meryl Streep, Martha Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Condoleezza Rice, Gen. Colin Powell, Quincy Jones, Clint Eastwood, Michael Douglas, Gary Sinise, Matthew Morrison from "Glee," Coach John Harbaugh, Chef José Andrés, and Michelle Kwan.

Nadia also regularly performs as an orchestral harpist with the Alexandria Symphony, Annapolis Symphony, Manassas Ballet Theatre, the Choral Arts Society of Washington, the Washington Ballet, and other ensembles.

Nadia holds degrees from Indiana University and the University of Michigan, and has presented masterclasses at Louisiana State University, the Washington Conservatory of Music, Howard University, and NYU.

Nadia was absolutely FANTASTIC to work with! She was incredibly professional, responsive, and accommodating of all music requests we had. We ultimately had our ceremony outside at Oatlands in Leesburg, VA, and even with some last minute crazy weather which temporarily changed our location, Nadia was quickly willing to switch spots and get set to play. She is incredibly talented, and was definitely one of the highlights of our wedding day! She has a versatile repertoire of songs that enabled us to pick music that truly reflected us (Calvin Harris, Florence + the Machine, The Legend of Zelda), which made our wedding even more special. We would absolutely recommend!   

Nadia is an excellent communicator up to and including the event today.  She is professional in every way from her talent to her presentation.  She was probably the most talked about thing at the party.  We will definitely look to book Nadia at our holiday party next year.  I know a couple of people asked for her information and I will happily send that forward.  She is WONDERFUL.  She was a perfect fit to our party.

Nadia Pessoa is a world class harpist, proven by both her resume and her live performance.  Our daughter, who was the bride, is also a performing harpist, so when she needed a harpist to perform at her own wedding, she wanted the best.  Nadia was asked to perform a pretty challenging repertoire, and did so flawlessly.  She also played a duet with the groom's brother, a clarinetist and graduate of the Julliard School.  With little time to rehearse together, the duet was a thing of beauty to listen to.  There were times I thought I was at a concert rather than a wedding ceremony.  Nadia Pessoa is an exceptional talent.
