Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 19, 2011From Newtown, PA

We hired Stephen to provide the music for our wedding ceremony. It was a pleasure working with him. He was extremely accommodating with our song choice and even offered suggestions. The ceremony turned out beautiful with the addition of his music. I would definetely recommend Stephen for this type of event. All of our guests complemented us on the choice of the mandolin for our ceremony. Thank you Stephen!

CelebrationReviewed on September 12, 2011From Mantua, NJ

Stephen was wonderful! We was on time (early) and his performance on the mandolin really added that special touch I was looking for for my wedding serenade. Everyone continued to comment on how wonderful he was and how amazing it was to hear a well played mandolin. I would highly recommend Stephen to anyone looking to hire a professional musiciaian for their event!

We had specific versions of the 5 songs we wanted played for our wedding ceremony. I gave Stephen a disk with the exact songs and he was able to find them. The music was excellent. It was a perfect day with the help of our musicians

Oktoberfest PartyReviewed on November 14, 2008From Newark, DE

Stephen Kleiman gave our Community (a Senior Living Community) a fabulous performance. He arrived a little early and was ready start at 7 p.m. sharp. He dressed like the old-time bango player with a red-striped shirt, vest and hat. He is a friendly, very interactive performer. He went around the whole room and played special requests at each table. This enabled the visually and hearing impaired residents to actually see the musician and hear the music. The Community was buzzing the next day with everyone talking about the evening. We highly recommend this performer for any senior living environment such as assisted living and skilled nursing.

Stephen did a fantastic job playing at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour! We did non-traditional songs for the ceremony (processional and recessional) and he did a fabulous job translating them to guitar and mandolin: meaning, even without vocals, you could most certainly tell what the songs were. The only reason I have a 4 1/2 For professionalism was that right before the wedding I received a few emails from Stephen that seemed a bit curt. But otherwise, and in person, he was nothing but professional, accommodating, and friendly. I would, without hesitation, recommend him!

The only disappointment for our event was it would have been better if he could have moved around the dining room while playing. But he needed an electric outlet, therefore he stayed in one area.

:

On my- Dear Joanne- this is the first I have heard about you wanting me to ‘move around the dinning room while playing’. We call this ‘Strolling’ in the business. I easily would have done that. Part of my winning the ‘Best of 2012’ award from Gigmasters is my ability to communicate with clients so there are no surprises on the day of the event. In all our prior E-mails ‘strolling’ was never mentioned. We talked about Repertoire, Dress and my needs for an electrical outlet for the sound system. I wish you told me that’s what you wanted. I would have brought an acoustic mandolin and absolutely have gone from table to table.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on July 5, 2013From Kennett Square, PA

Stephen was a very talented musician. I felt that we miscommunicated quite a bit especially the day of. When we arrived, he didn't know the ceremony was outdoors, and claimed I didn't respond with my final song choices. His skill as a musician allowed him to pick up the pieces quickly and complete the ceremony. I would just recommend that during the initial "getting to know you " email that some questions should be asked based upon if the ceremony is inside or out, is there electric, can you have a chair and extension cord waiting for me, ect. This would for a much smoother transition. The guests loved his ability and the ceremony was beautiful!

:

I have waited a while to respond to this 'Bride' 1) I do not charge the same price for indoor vs outdoor- SHE very cleverly never told me it was outside to avoid extra charge.( because of the extra equipment involved ) she also never e-mailed me the change in song request- I keep in touch with all clients so there are no surprises on the 'day of'- she had made changes very last minute and never bothered to inform me.3) I always carry my own stool and extension cord.- notice her last line in review-"The guests loved his ability and the ceremony was beautiful!" I have been voted 'best of' 2012,2013,2014,2015 Based on my playing and communication with the client.

He was overheard by multiple guests cursing about how much he hated working in our venue. We had him for our ceremony and cocktail hour and only had 3 song requests (Air on G, All you need is love, Cannon in D). Although we hired him months in advance, he didn't bother to learn any of the 3 songs, and completely butchered them during the ceremony. Additionally, we had to pay $150 extra for insurance since he didn't carry it. We are extremely disappointed. He sounded good during cocktail hour, but ruined the ceremony. You shouldn't agree to do a gig if you hate the venue and tell the customer the requested songs are too hard. Wish we could get our money back :(

You have me confused w/caterer or DJ.I have a wonderful relationship w/Venue. I would never make such comments. I am a full time professional Voted best of 2012 based on positive feedback. They r common songs I play on regular basis.U have me mixed up w/lighting director/Ceremony coordinator U had long walk w/lighting cues u had to follow.I arrived early+reviewed procedures.Songs were played correctly. Most single musician do not have these policies.not cost effective explained in advance.F.I.requires additional ins. This extra ins. only comes up 1x/2x a year. That is why Gigmasters provides, such policies.Explained that u could added me for no charge 2 the caterers ins.
