Needs to update music.

They didn't indicate what kind of music they wanted, which included rap, which I don't carry. And they returned my marked-off songlist just before the event, which indicates the kind of music they want. But I thought that they had a great time, and they hired me for overtime and gave me a tip. And I have since updated my music.

He was supposed to setup a microphone for our officiant and the first one failed. He setup a different microphone and it cut in and out through out our entire ceremony. He did nothing to try and save the disaster and our officiant eventually stepped away from the microphone. He didn't have or didn't play most of the songs we requested or asked for. We also had a live band which he didn't cooperate very well with. He mostly wanted to play songs that he thought people would dance to. We had a slide show which we asked for lynard skynard type songs. We got Alan Jackson. Lynard skynard played when it was over.

I want to clear up some of the inaccuracies in this review.
(1) They set me up in a place out of range for both the lapel and wireless mics. That's why it cut in and out.
(2) I had and played ALL the songs requested except 2 which I had but cleared with the bride who said I didn't need to play. She said I was doing great.
(3) The live performer's music kept cutting in and out, so I asked if he wanted me to cover for him while he worked out the problem. He said yes.
(4) They never asked for Lynard Skynard during slide show. Otherwise that's what I would have played.
(5) I played all requests and the bride had a great time and the dance floor was continually full.

Dennis promised books and slips, but provided maybe 2-3 pages of songs, as opposed to song books. When I asked him where the slips were for the singers to fill out, he suggested we tear up some pieces of paper from some pages of lyrics that were lying on the table. He needed to be told several times that he had no music playing. Each time, Dennis would look up, startled, as if he had been daydreaming. He had trouble setting up the karaoke system. He was unable to unload or load his equipment by himself and needed to enlist the help of the restaurant staff. I am VERY DISSATISFIED with the overall performance, quality, and value of the services of Dennis Marcellino.

What an incredible surprise. Let me clarify with facts. There were actually 10 pages of 800 songs. "Pieces of paper" were actually sheets of paper. Yes I had to work out technical problems a couple of times because it was a new karaoke system with a 23" flat screen monitor driven by a laptop. But I did work them out. I was very able to load in my equipment (as I do at every other job) but this guy came up and asked to help and I said sure. I'm surprised that the client didn't appreciate that I had extra equipment to make her and her 3 singers and guitar player sound very good in their special performance or mine. But "1's"? Hard to believe and totally inaccurate.

Dennis, was great in the music he chose and he was very accommodating in our needing to break occasionally for raffle drawings. My main concerns were that he didn't show up until roughly 20 minutes before the start of our Event, and he was not prepared to protect his equipment from the heat, so we had to get him a canopy and chair. He was not very upbeat or energetic like most DJ's I've worked with. I do realize that each person is different, I'm just not used to no real interaction???

Micky, Hi! I just wanted to respond to what you said so that you know why I did what I did. Actually I was there 45 minutes ahead of time (it only takes me 15 minutes to set up), but I wasn't told where to park, so I had to walk around trying to find that out. And in my Preferences sheet I said that I needed a covered area, not direct sun. But I had to email my Preferences sheet and leave phone messages 5 times. And then it still didn't arrive until the day before your event. I didn't know that you wanted interaction. I usually do weddings, and they don't want that. Had I known I would have done it more. But I did dedicate "Lady In Red" to you and the mayor :-)
