In a field where far too many people believe all they have to do is put on the uniform and that makes them pipers, I have done the work to make myself a true master of the instrument and professional performer.  This year in fact I became the professional champion of the entire Eastern United States Pipe Band Association.
Of course, I always perform in authentic highland dress, for either day wear or formal evening wear.

I have performed onstage with the Chieftains and composed and performed original piping music for the feature film Trooper.

All this experience has made me a complete performer, not just someone in a kilt.

I learned to play bagpipes from some of the most respected players in the world, including Jim McIntosh, MBE, and John MacLellan, MBE. I win prizes at the HIGHEST competitive level of piping all across the country and am currently ranked second in the United States.  

For eight years in a row I was awarded the prize as the best piper of the day at the Round Hill Highland Games in Connecticut.

As Pipe-Sergeant of the world famous Oran Mor Pipe Band I led the band to the finals at the World Championships in our first appearance.

Beverly Sills invited me to play at the New York City Opera for Brigadoon, and I have performed at Carnegie Hall, in Boston with The Boston Pops, Shakespeare in the Park in New York, and for many years I was a featured performer at New York City's renowned Eagle Tavern.

I have played at occasions ranging from weddings and funerals to special concerts, educational events, and promotional performances for nearly 40 years. I provide the finest and most professional piping for all my clients, working with you in advance of your event to ensure your absolute satisfaction.

Amazing! He was very prompted with communicating with us about the wedding throughout the year, clothing was very authentic, extremely friendly, and most importantly the music completed the ceremony! It was a magical moment to walk with my dad up the aisle to bagpipes and return down the aisle  a married couple to the sounds of pipes!! I would recommend John for any event!!! John provided music for our church function the morning after playing at numerous St. Patrick's Day Celebrations and I'm sure had the right to be exhausted, but instead provided an excellent performance even taking requests.

I believe the word awesome was used by several of our members when describing what they thought of his music.  It was definately something different & refreshing for our church.  We would be happy to have John back again!

John Bottomley is an excellent performer.  His charming demeanor and love of the pipes warmed our hearts and delighted our guests.  We highly recommend John.  He will add a special touch to any event.

I think that John was great. We only had a short time for his performance, but for us it was well woth every penny. My Daughter and Son-in-law will never forget their wedding with John.

John is a fantastic piper. We hired him to play on the stairs to our church while guests were arriving and leaving our wedding ceremony.  He provided the perfect sound to our Celtic wedding. The music selections he made were a great fit for the day’s events.  He was very professional and courteous during all the planning. We received tons of compliments on how great he sounded from all of our guests. If we ever have another event that needs a Piper...John is the only one we'll hire. We would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking to hire a piper for any event.
