Performer left 10 minutes early and made not effort to meet the bride and groom.

:

Since I was already booked, this customer accepted a replacement from my roster: employed with a notable orchestra in Chicago who is reliable, honest, w/impeccable reputation. His recollection is the father of the bride introduced himself at the end, & could easily vouch for his departure time. However, the customer was unwilling to verify her allegation with this gentleman. Secondly, it is my assumption that professional protocol dictates the hired help, including musicians & caterers do not mingle with the bridal couple / party guests unless requested so. In the future, I shall ask the customer if they wish the musicians to introduce themselves to certain people.

Private PartyReviewed on November 17, 2012From Mundelein, IL

Jennifer Silk, our strolling violinist , made our evening. The music she played brought back such fine memories of her mentor 'Franz Benteler' and his Royal Strings. Jennifer is not only talented but puts fun into her performance with such interesting stories. She knows how much we enjoyed her music and frankly, i think she really enjoyed playing for us as well. What a wonderful combination. God willing we both will enjoy being together next year. Vince & Gerrie Pecaro

Sweet 16 PartyReviewed on November 2, 2013From Crystal Lake, IL

Got feedbacks from guests. I was busy being the mom of the birthday girl. Stephanie accepted another gig before our event thus she ended up starting late and in a rush. I requested all black outfit and to my surprise she was in a beige cardigan. I expected a continuous performance but there was a gap of about 2 minutes per piece so that totals to a lot of dead air in between the 2-hour contract plus a 10 minute break which was required after 50 minutes of playing but really they started 15minutes late. They played well being professional musicians and played our requests. Not happy with the dead air and being late especially this was for reception music.

:

Search YouTube ‘por una cabeza monacquinn’ to view proof of false wardrobe accusation. The 2 of us obeyed contract 100%,with a 6.30 start-time. I arrived at 6,in my chair at 6.15. What started as simple background music, became a tightly choreographed 'Hollywood' production, fitting client requests w/a choir, w/a 16 part cotillion dance, you name it.Emcee approached @ 6.25 w/a contradictory sequence, causing 8 minute delay. We turned pages between songs, not 2 minutes as accused. Live musicians are not machines; if client wants seamless music, use a DJ. We,the Monacquinn Duo,put an uncompensated 25 hours pre-production work,& went far above the call of duty on this job.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on May 20, 2013From Munster, IN

Talking with her before the ceremony was the easy part. She seemed excited and willing to do whatever we asked. The day of the wedding? Terrible. She kept emailing my bride about the weather (worrying her violin would be cold and it would rain, and threatening not to come). We had an outdoor ceremony, but it was entirely covered. It was 72 degrees and not a drop of rain. The chance of rain for the entire day was only 20%. Why she decided to complain to my bride the day of our wedding I have no idea, just to be difficult I suppose. SHE WAS LATE on top of it. She definitely played beautifully once she finally arrived, but too difficult to deal with otherwise.

:

I was excited about this Celtic ceremony!I have a precious concert violin; it's tone cuts through wind/distance wo/amplification! 2 days before this job I began to dread it. While in traffic, client informed me in an unscheduled 'consultation' the wedding was outdoors 'somewhere' on the grounds! I reminded him our contract specifically states I don't play uncovered by rain; he offered no specific location or coverage. Forecast was 80% rain at wedding hour so I did try to get exact location & assurance I'd be covered--no response. Due to accident on I-94, I arrived 3 minutes before the hit, played immediately. To compensate, I performed past the contracted stop time.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on November 1, 2012From Barrington, IL

Stephanie is very accommodating especially because her schedule is so busy. She fit me in between a tour and another performance. She arrived ahead of time to even play music for guests arriving. However, I would make sure to speak to her over the phone. We exchanged multiple emails about how I wanted Canon in D for the bridal party and air on the G String for myself and she flip flopped it during my ceremony which caused my husband to sweat bullets waiting for me at the alter and a tiny delay. When someone grabbed me because I didn't hear my cue for my music she did start playing Air in the G String, but it was slightly disheartening for me.

:

Kyra's review is accurate. I left her ceremony in tears, feeling horrible about my failure to give my best. Besides my musical commitments, I was a new bride myself, married a few weeks ago. I am fully adjusted now; my performances even more inspired due to my happy personal life. I wish to assure future brides that such an error will never occur again.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on November 12, 2019From Columbus, NC

Stephanie and her Cellist, Katie, preformed at my ceremony on Nov 9th. Their performance was beautiful and their timing was perfect! Stephanie interviewed us to get a feel for our musical taste. She sent us a collection of links of her playing several different arrangements so we had a good idea of what we liked. Our ceremony was outdoors and the temp was low, which can be damaging to string instruments, but we provided outdoor heaters and they were able to play beautifully!! We are very happy with our decision to book Stephanie!

We were extremely pleased with our experience. Having strings made our wedding day exactly what I dreamed of. They played beautifully and would highly recommend. Working with Stephanie was a pleasure from beginning to end. Thanks so much!
