Wedding Cocktail HourReviewed on November 11, 2013From Washington, DC

George was a superb performer and thoroughly impressed all of our guests at our cocktail hour. If we ever need a pianist for an event again, it will without a doubt be George.

Do NOT make the same mistake I did. Im only allowed 675 characters for the review, here's a summary: -REFUSED to take any ceremony or cocktail hour suggestions, stated people only want to hear traditional music -Was beyond rude, abrasive, unprofessional, and insulting in phone conversations...absolutely impossible to work with -Was hired for 2 hours (ceremony & cocktail) played 30 minutes, left before cocktail because he couldn't find a power outlet, then refused to refund ANY money (we even paid his travel fees) George admittedly will not play any modern music, do not expect him to. If you are looking for a cocktail hour and/or ceremony pianist, look elsewhere.

:

Just look at all the reviews of the past six years and compare. Is there something wrong this picture? The client was off by 65 miles in the initial gig request and didn't mention that there was no piano at the venue. Called three days before gig to submit his requests (hired me 6 months prior), including only one song I did not know and couldn't find on the internet. Did not consider the time and effort for two sets of set up and breakdown of electronic piano and speakers.Wanted cocktail in different outdoor location which would require half an hour for setup and where there was no electricity. The cocktail hour would have been almost over by then. Live and learn.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on July 14, 2013From Edgewater, MD

Very professional and classy, would recommend George for any event including very upscale ones. His music is wonderful and he has a range of music for all age groups. He creates a setting that enhances the flow of the event, people enjoy more mingling; the comments were "best party I've ever been to". Very easy person to work with. George would be my first choice for my next event. Thank-you George!

I would recommend George to anyone. He arrived on time, in a nice suit, and was incredibly professional. He played the music we spoke of, and got compliments from the guests, and from my bosses. He was polite, courteous, friendly, and professional.

George is 5 on my scale of 1 to 5. I am a seasoned singer and musician from New York City and I thought George was the perfect performer for my father's 90'th birthday dinner. He was an excellent pianist with all the right music for the affair. Even his appearance added class. I highly recommend him. Thank you George

Christmas PartyReviewed on December 9, 2012From Clarksville, MD

George Gerich is the consummate professional. Prior to the party, he was quick to be in touch whenever communication was necessary. His playlist was seamlessly woven to mix holiday songs with timeless classics. George is a wonderful pianist - - this is the first time he has played for one of our at-home events, but it will hopefully not be the last. Recommend him highly!

WeddingReviewed on November 3, 2012From Casanova, VA

Mr. Gerich was very pleasant & accommodating to our special requests even though he had little notice. His talent is wonderful and broad selection was perfect for the dinner portion of our event. He also played during my daughter's wedding ceremony and we did not think to assign someone to give him cues and he did not request it. Consequently, there was a mix-up in the songs and timing of when they were played in spite of having written direction. I blame myself for not realizing this was necessary. Mr. Gerich's professionalism was excellent-he arrived when he said he would and accommodated a practice session with our relative who sang. I would highly recommend him.

I was taking my cues from the minister who announced the order of the ceremony incorrectly, not having attended the rehearsal.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on October 9, 2012From Columbia, MD

George was fabulous!! ... both in personality and talent. He provided us with just what we had requested and hoped for. The party was an 80th birthday celebration for my Dad, with almost 100 attendees. George met my specific requests and I found him to be prompt and completely efficient and professional in his arrival and set-up, and in his performance. (Unfortunately, my Dad took a serious fall about 4 weeks prior to the event, requiring major surgery, so since we weren't sure if my father was going to recuperate by the planned date of the party, I had to contact George and explain the situation. He completely understood, and the party was wonderful!) Kudos!

Country Club EventReviewed on October 1, 2012From Spotsylvania, VA

George played at our Country Club for an evening of art and music. His choice of music for the evening fit perfectly. We wanted background music where the guest could enjoy conversion while still having music to set the mood and he did that perfectly.

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on September 27, 2012From Fairfax, VA

George was such a joy to have at our wedding. He played through the cocktail hour and dinner reception and then we had scheduled to cut the cake/do the first dance before changing over to a ipod for more dancing into the evening. I had requested that he play our first dance and father/daughter dance pieces on the keyboard and it was just a seamless transition. George was so accommodating and reassured me that everything would go great, and it did!! Many of our guests commented on his talent and were impressed by his professional behavior and song choices.

Retirement PartyReviewed on September 1, 2012From Bethesda, MD

I and all my guests loved George Gerich. I wished I had booked him for 3 hours. His wide selection of pop music was delightful to listen to and his piano playing took the party to another level. I would definitely have him back at another celebration.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on August 17, 2012From Washington, DC

George was easy to work with, accommodating in playing nearly everything on our rather extensive suggested playlist of old standards (Gershwin, Porter, etc.) and show tunes, and added his own selections that perfectly complemented our chosen tunes. He arrived early, was well-dressed and professional, and played beautifully yet not intrusively--perfect for a cocktail party and seated dinner for 40. He even agreed to extend his play for an additional half hour for an extra charge, which we appreciated because we knew he must have been tiring after a three-hour event with only one brief break. We recommend him highly.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on February 27, 2012From College Park, MD

George was extremely professional and talented. On our first meeting, he provided a lot of recommendations for ceremony music, which we really appreciated. We ended up selecting a few specific songs, and then left the rest to George's discretion. He did a great job and the music sounded great. We also selected a non-traditional song for the bridal entrance song and George learned it and played it beautifully. Finally, there was a mix-up with the payment and we weren't able to pay George until after the ceremony. He was extremely patient, polite, and professional in dealing with this issue. We would definitely recommend George to anyone looking for a pianist.

Cocktail PartyReviewed on February 10, 2012From Washington, DC

I am an event planner and I hired George to play the piano for the cocktail portion of our evening at the Mandarin Hotel in DC. He was highly professional in all our communications and his piano playing was just wonderful. Many people at the event remarked on the music and my client was delighted with his song choices and talent. I will definitely use George again for other events if I have the opportunity.
