Mardi Gras PartyReviewed on February 14, 2013From Chicago, IL

Mike Knauf Music added a lot to our Mardi Gras party. Setting up the gig was very simple because Mike Knauf stayed in contact. On the day of the event, the band arrived promptly and played great live music that really reflected the Mardi Gras spirit. The guests only had positive things to say and they enjoyed dancing to the music. The only criticism or needed improvement would be the transitions between songs. There seemed to be some dead time transitioning from song to song. Otherwise, Mike Knauf Music and the Dixieland Jazz Cats were a great band to have at our Mardi Gras celebration.

FuneralReviewed on November 25, 2012From Stickney, IL

Overall, the experience delighted everyone! If I could offer any criticism it would be to not make such a fast exit. It seemed like some of the band members were in a rush to get to another gig. I understand some of the members were running late but there did seem to be a big rush to leave. That being said, I would definitely use Mike Knauf again, they were wonderful. In fact, the singer was pure fun! The guys looked sharp and executed a nice balance of starting out slow and ending on a peppy note. These guys can do it all. Everyone loved the concept of having New Orleans jazz-style funeral march. Bravo!!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on June 3, 2010From Stevensville, MI

I was completely disapointed. I explained that I wanted waltzes, tangos, Cha-Chas and such. He started out great, but then he started taking request from teenagers during his second set! My final straw was when he played "Friends from Low Places" by 9:30. It set the wrong mood. My family, including me, were not dancing; however, the teenagers were dominating the dance floor. The worse part was when my father asked the band to play the music I selected, and he was told that they have a list that they were following. As the bride, this was not the memory I wanted.

I am sorry for any disappointment you experienced. I was surprised, as no one complained to us about our music the entire evening. We designed our sets from all of the music you requested. You asked us to play a variety of music throughout the evening, as your family would like to dance to everything! We made sure we incorporated a mixture of music in each set to help please you and everyone at the party. We also noticed the dance floor was filled for over two hours straight and everyone seemed to be enjoying the variety of music. There were people coming up throughout the evening asking for specific songs. We were trying to play requests, as well as stay to t

EventReviewed on March 14, 2014From Palos Hills, IL

Mike Knauf and his musicians were late, but traffic really couldn't be helped. The band set up and played some tunes that were recognized and that were also new and contemporary. Our patrons enjoyed the music a lot and they interacted well with the musicians. I would have them again at our institution.

Christmas PartyReviewed on January 3, 2023From Chicago, IL

Some miscommunication between musicians and Knauf which was a bit of a hassle but able to get the band members doing what they needed. While band members were elderly they played magnificently!! Lovely to have them at our party.

Oktoberfest PartyReviewed on August 23, 2017From Kentland, IN

My only complaint is that the song list for 1.5 hours of music should have been a little longer. Though they did not take a break and played straight through the entire time, the same few songs were repeated over & over. They did engage the crowd of 150 people & overall did a great job. Guests LOVED the band & the costumes, and our company's president was VERY pleased with the entertainment. We'd definitely recommend hiring Die Musikmeisters Band to anyone.
