Dave was professional, on time, and absolutely a joy to work with. Several of our guests commented on how lovely the music was during our ceremony and our cocktail hour. I also asked Dave to sing in the ceremony somewhat at the last minute, and he sang "In My Life" between our two readers and brought tears to our eyes it was so wonderful. He added so much to our day and we are more than pleased we hired him for our wedding! He definitely helped make it the special day we hoped for!

Dave Read was an excellent addition to my mother's birthday party. He arrived early and was set up and ready to go before we even got there. He played some slow instrumental songs during the beginning of the party and then kicked it up so we could dance. He was extremely accommodating regarding all of our requests (and we did have alot)and really kept the party going. It was a great time and I would definitely hire him again.

Dave keeps everyone entertained and happy. Dave goes that extra mile. The whole bar joins in on singing those old time favorites. Dave will be back as often as he wants to play here at The South Winds Restaurant and Marina Bar.

Dave played solo at our wedding reception dinner for about 45 people. We asked Dave to provide classical guitar background music during the affair and he was excellent! His music was just right for the occasion, he took very few breaks and many of our guests commented on how much he added to our party. We would reccomend Dave to anyone.
PS - he plays a great version of Mood for a Day.

I often resist giving out perfect scores for any kind of rating. However, Dave was really terrific and there is nothing negative I can comment on. He is realiable and talented. Many of my guests made comments to me about how they felt he was very good and enjoyed his music. I would definately recommend him and hire him again.

Dave Read was terrific! He recently played guitar during my wedding ceremony and I got SO many compliments from my guests. Throughout the planning, Dave was patient, helpful and extremely accomodating. I had a soloist sing at my wedding and Dave even recorded his playing on a CD and sent it to her so she could practice with the music. Then, on the day of the ceremony he came early to practice with her and was professional and polite. He helped us choose song choices and come up with a beautiful playlist for the ceremony including classical and contemporary songs! Dave was prompt with returning emails and phone cals and was just all around a five star guitarist. I'd recommend him to anyone for their wedding ceremony.

Dave was excellent. This was a 90th birthday celebration for an older group that knew and appreciated classical guitar music. Dave played the instrumental pieces beautifully and provided the perfect background for the attendees. In addition, he was pleasant and easy to deal with. Dave and Kevin were excellent! They performed at our wedding. My guest really enjoyed their music and so did we. Dave & Kevin were very accommodating, we sprang something on them last minute and they were able to come through. Very accommodating with his music list if we wanted something else played and they knew it they would play it, Very professional. When I would contact Dave either by phone or email he would respond back within a day or two. Dave called a few days before wedding to see if we needed anything specific. Would definitely hire again to perform for some other function. Thank you Dave & Kevin for making our wedding day extra special.

It was truly an enjoyable experience to have Dave provide music and vocals at our daughter's 16th birthday celebration. He's professional in every way and was a big hit with everyone at the event including the restaurant staff. He accomodated all requests with ease, was very relaxed in his presentations, and selected his music to fit the pace of the celebration.
It goes without saying that we would use his services again and would highly recommend Dave to anyone looking for a great performer.

Dave played at our wedding on 4/14/2007. We had small ceremony and dinner for 23 people. We had wanted a mix of classical music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and slow/rock/pop during dinner. Dave was not only able to meet our expectations, he exceeded them. He was very easy to deal with...prompt, professional, flexible, and accommodating. He played exactly what we wanted, but was also able to change easily if we wanted to slow things down or speed things up. One of the many things that we also liked about Dave was that he could play any song with or without vocals. For anyone who needs a performer who will work with you to make your day exactly what you want it to be, Dave is the right person for you.
