Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Chris has grown as an orchestral, chamber, and solo musician. Chris has served as concertmaster for several orchestras including the Louisville Youth Orchestra under Jason Seber and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute's Young Artist Orchestra under Mei-Ann Chen.
Chris is also a founding member of the St. Clair String Quartet serving as the 1st VIolinist. The St. Clair String Quartet has had acclaim including the invitation to perform at the Mayor's Inauguration for the city of Louisville.
As a soloist, Chris as been featured on WUOL 90.5 during the "Lunchtime Classics" series after being a prize winner in the radio station's Young Artist Competition. The following year Chris was the winner of the Whittenburg Scholarship provided by the Fund For the Arts. Chris has also performed as soloist with the Starling Chamber Orchestra and the Youth Performing Arts School's Philharmonia Orchestra.
During the summer, Chris has participated in music festivals across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Chris performed at the Interlochen Advanced String Quartet Program, Boston University Tanglewood Institute's Young Artist Orchestra and String Quartet Workshop, and the Great Wall International Music Academy in Beijing, China. While in Beijing, Chris performed as part of the Great Wall Soloists who were featured on two NPR "From the Top" shows taped at the Central Conservatory of Music. Recently, Chris attended the Mozarteum Summer Music Academy in Salzburg, Austria and collaborated with Rohan de Silva after a series of masterclasses with Kurt Sassmannshaus.
As a director, Chris founded the Giovani Vecchi Concert Series. The concert series' mission is to bring together a large age variance into the viewing audience. To help aid the age integration, Chris implementes collaborations between students and faculty along with other professional artists bringing age variance within the concert setting. The Giovani Vecchi Concert Series also explores and discovers new ways to present classical music.
Chris has studied chamber music with members of the Arianna, Maia, Muir, American, Great Wall, and Ariel String Quartets. Also, Chris has performed in masterclasses with James Buswell, Miriam Fried, Peter Zazofsky, Lucia Lin, David Gillham, John McGrosso, Tricia Park, Zoren Jakovcic, Dana Mazurkevich, Owen Young, Robert Merfeld, Michelle LaCourse, and Michael Zaretsky. Chris studies at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under Kurt Sassmannshaus.
An avid fan of the outdoors, Chris earned his rank of Eagle Scout and enjoys cycling, backpacking, hiking, kayaking, and canoeing in his spare time.
