Famed Broadway director, Hal Prince, discovered Steve's voice, and cast him in his first Broadway production, Evita. He eventually joined the National Touring company of this highly acclaimed show, touring the U.S. in Evita for three years.
Regional theaters throughout the U.S. have featured Mr. Teague in principal roles in productions of "The Pirates Of Penzance," "Oklahoma," "Camelot," and "Man of La Mancha" to name a few.
Continuing his professional performing career, he gained acclaim as the winning California Vocalist of the Metropolitan Opera Finals, thus adding many operas to his repertoire. He has sung Mephistopheles in "Faust", Jupiter in "Orpheus and the Underworld", Banco in "MacBeth", Escamillo in "Carmen" and Colline in "La Boheme".
For several years, East Coast audiences witnessed this fine baritone as the principal emcee/singer for producer Calvin Gilmore's Serenade in Charleston, SC & Carolina Opry in Myrtle Beach, SC. He has been a headliner all around the world performing on Regent, Oceania, Silver Seas, Seabourn, Celebrity, NCL, Cunard, Holland America and Crystal Cruises, thus making him one of the most sought after vocalists on the hight seas!
