This is an annual event at our church and the first time I have done this service. New priest, new music, new musicians...I was really worried. Mr. Calvillo was very helpful in perparing for the service, but when he and his drummer showed up (on the stormiest day of the year) looking like a Scotland travel poster, I knew everything was going to be fine. They did a spectacular job and everyone loved the service and the music. I only hope they are available next year!

Bagpiper Darrell was on time, in perfect uniform, and performed as promised. His performance (the traditional Amazing Grace) during our committal/ashes scattering ceremony, and then a more festive array of tunes during the afternoon of sailing that followed was a big hit with my guests and crew of the schooner I chartered.

Darrell performed at our wedding in Big Bear. He is the consummate professional!! He traveled up to Big Bear to attend our little rehearsal, just so he would have everything just right. His playing is exceptional and his presence in his full regalia is quite impressive!! All of our guests were delighted with Darrell's performance, as were my husband & I. I can't recommend Darrell enough - he is truly one of the best!!

Darrell was fantastic, very talented and very professional. I surprised my dad for his 50th birthday party and Darrell made it incredibly special! My dad cried many happy tears. Everyone loved it and Darrell even stayed a bit after his performance to talk to my dad and the people at the party. I will definitely keep Darrell in my contacts in case my Irish fam ever needs a bagpiper for any occasion. Thank you Darrell for making my dad's birthday one of the best days of his life, two weeks later and he STILL hasn't stopped talking about the bagpiper :)

Darrell not only played beautifully for the funeral, but deported himself with the utmost professionalism, and respect. We had many comments about how beautiful and moving his music was. We would recommend him wholeheartedly, and if we ever needed a bagpiper again, he would be our first call.

In addition to great communication leading up to my big wedding day, he treated my parents to an additional song while we were doing pictures. The experience was priceless.

Darrell and his drummer are very talented and professional. They were prompt, appropriate to the circumstances (a memorial held in a restaurant) and well received by all in attendance. The price was a bargain and I want to express my personal gratitude both performers for helping to make the event special.

Darrell was very professional and did an excellent job playing at the service. He coordinated with the funeral director and music director at the church to fit seamlessly into the service. While Amazing Grace wasn't played as a solo before the coffin left the church, it was played during the recessional which ended up being fine. However, this may have been due to the funeral already running over time. I would recommend Darrell's services.

He went above and beyond what was requested of him, and was also flexible in accommodating last minute changes. The performers were very professional and accomodating. Our venue was not the best, and they graciously accomodated our needs by being flexible and responsive. They are very talented and entertaining and I am looking forward to using them again, with a venue better suited to highlight their talents.

Darrell was fabulous, he played the songs I requested, perfectly. His rendition of Amazing Grace was awesome. As he played, he slowly walked away from us at the cemetery, at the same time as my mothers body was slowly being driven away to her final resting place. He timed it perfectly, we were all in tears and at the same time we felt a sense of closure as he walked away, the sound trailing as he goes. I highly recommend Darrell Calvillo, he truly made a heartbreaking day much more bearable, I am forever grateful.
