Brazilian Marching Drumline  Marching Band from New York City, NY

FogoAzul NYC is NYC's only all women Brazilian Drumline. WE are NOT A MARCHING BAND! We're a Samba-lanche of color and sound! We play dance rhythms and have exceptional choreography to go with it! We are great for events to either start it, end it, lead a pied piper style procession, or just play standing interludes. We also are a great surprise for any event, we love playing weddings and other celebrations, parades and processions, block parties and street fairs, and any thing we can participate in! With 65 members strong, we come big or small for your event, the smallest we can do is 9 players, and the biggest we can generally get is 50 at a time. We love crowd interaction and soul trains! FogoAzul NYC is part of a music education and arts network called Grooversity with over 20 other drumming groups around the world who's mission is to spread the culture of Bahia, Brazil, community outreach, and music as a catalyst for change. FogoAzul NYC has 65 women drummers, takes all women regardless of prior music experience, and teaches them to drum and dance. FogoAzul NYC is under the direction of Stacy Kovacs.
