Italian violinist, improviser and composer Ludovica Burtone has performed worldwide as both a soloist and chamber musician. She has extensive experience in teaching and studio recording in orchestral, chamber music, improvisational, television and film scoring sessions. In addition to her classical training, Ludovica grew up playing and improvising in different music contexts like contemporary, jazz, brazilian music and pop.
Ludovica is available as a soloist on electric and acoustic violin and viola. Performing a mix of standard classical, jazz, pop and brazilian music, upon request she provides duo, trio and quartet services to suit your special occasion (duos with cello or guitar, string trio and string quartet).
Classically trained, Ludovica studied at the Conservatory of Liceu in Spain, and the Conservatory J. Tomadini in Italy, where she graduated with a Master of Arts in Violin Performance, Magna Cum Laude. She has worked with several European orchestras including the Orchestra Mitteleuropa and the Orchestra Teatro Lirico di Trieste. As a chamber musician she has toured throughout continental Europe, Canada, Costa Rica and the United States. Since 2012 she has immersed herself in all aspects of jazz studies completing a diploma in jazz composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. In 2011 she was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Banff Festival in Jazz and Creative Music (Canada), where she studied performance and composition with such artists as Dave Douglas, Eyvind Kang and Kneebody.
Ludovica performed in some of the most renown stages like Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Boston Opera House, Jordan Hall, with internationally recognized musicians such as Susana Baca, Danilo Perez, Joe Lovano, John Patitucci, Nicola Benedetti, Massimo Quarta, A. R. Rahman, Karthik, Arijit Singh, Dream Theater and Alejandro Sanz.
