Recently returning to New York City from working internationally with her string trio, Beacon Street, Jessica is adept at both traditional and non-traditional performances. She is experienced, flexible and a pleasure to work with. Performance options include solo or chamber ensembles (string duets, trios and quartets).

Jessica McJunkins is a native of Charlotte, NC. She is a recent graduate of the University of NC School of the Arts, where she completed her undergraduate studies in violin performance as a student of Kevin Lawrence. As a classical musician, she plays as an extra violinist with the Charlotte Symphony, Chicago Chamber Orchestra, Charleston Symphony and Oleander Chamber Orchestra (Wilmington, NC), and she was a fellowship member of the 2011 Spoleto Festival USA Festival Orchestra in Charleston, SC.
As a freelance musician and lover of various musical genres, Ms. McJunkins performed for hip-hop superstar Kanye West in 2005, and was featured in a string quartet specially selected to perform with the Alonzo King LINES Ballet during its residency at UNCSA in 2007. She has played in the orchestra for Broadway productions in Charlotte, including South Pacific, White Christmas, Shrek and Next to Normal, and has enjoyed playing for Opera Carolina productions in 2009 and 2010. Additionally, she has served as concertmaster for several productions at Elon University, and most recently, Jessica has been featured as a regular chamber performer as part of a series of concerts at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Charlotte.
Jessica has been coached by, and has worked with William Preucil, Eric Larsen, Joseph Genualdi, Michael McCallum, Kenneth Frazelle and Glenn Siebert, and has performed in master classes with Gordon Back, Robert Mealy, and Cynthia Roberts, among others. Jessica is currently the newest (and youngest) member of the Hope Wisteria Ensemble, a multimedia performance group that promotes awareness of AIDS in Jamaica. The group is advised by Pulitzer Prizewinning poet Kwame Dawes, and was recently met with rave reviews following a series of performances at the National Black Theatre Festival.
