Amy Spurr Violinist from Toronto, ON

Amy Spurr has recently graduated from her Masters of Music in Violin Performance at the University of Toronto, where she studied with Gryphon Trio member Annalee Patipatanakoon. Amy is an avid orchestral musician, having played in orchestras such as the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra, Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra de la Francophonie, University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, and the Newfoundland Sinfonia. As well, Amy is very passionate about new works and has premiered and recorded several new compositions. Apart from performing, Amy also enjoys teaching violin students of all ages and levels, having several years of experience. In 2012, Ms. Spurr won Memorial's School of Music Concerto Competition and performed with the Chamber Orchestra later that year. Amy has attended music festivals such as Domaine Forget and Orford Arts Centre in Quebec, as well as the Tuckamore Chamber Music Festival in St. John's. Amy specializes in many different venues, having played in many weddings, special events, funerals and solo/chamber recitals.
