Allen Russell of Swing Chevron Violinist from Milwaukee, WI

Allen Russell Has been playing the violin for over 25 years and has performed hundreds of public and private engagements in a variety of styles at such notable locations as Milwaukee Jazz Estate, the Green Mill Chicago, Evanston Space, Traverse City Film Festival, Summerfest, and on the air at 91.7FM and 88.9 Radio Milwaukee. With a spirited, dynamic approach to violin playing, he leads the band Swing Chevron- a gypsy swing quartet that plays a mix of Allen's original music and classic gypsy jazz. Swing Chevron had the pleasure of performing at the 2014 Midwest Gypsy Swingfest in Madison, and has played events ranging from Jean's Jazz Series to a Charleston Dance Battle at Anodyne Walker's Point. Allen has also played extensively as a Solo Strolling Violinist, which has been a niche that sets him apart from many other talented Violinists. Allen's services are available as a Solo Violinist, Duo with a Pianist, Classical String Trio/Quartet, or as a Gypsy Swing Ensemble.
