Standing Ovation Variety Band from Argyle, TX

Standing Ovation has been a seasoned professional band for the past 18+ years. They have performed in numerous night clubs and country clubs in the Dallas area and beyond for special events, corporate and private parties, weddings and concerts. The lead vocal soloist Is Rita Powers. Rita has a degree in Music and a Masters in Theatre and is a college professor at Texas Women's University, Denton. She has been performing on stage since the age of 4. Standing Ovation has been the opening act for many major headliners (see: ) Rita is also a musical show director and was head of the drama dept at Marcus High School for 19 years. Rita recently partnered with Larry Barnett, a superb musician, who sings and plays several instruments including saxophone and lead guitar. Larry is also an accomplished musical arranger. They can perform as a duo and have the flexibility of expanding to an 8 piece band for large venues. Their repertoire is quite extensive covering multiple genres.
