Excellent introduction to the origins of steel drums and history of the Trinidad by Cathy George. Thoughtful and talented performance by Clyde "Lightning" George. Large, engaged crowd for the performance. Very professional and easy to work with--responsive to all emails and logistics.
My only recommendation is that Clyde is very soft spoken and he should always have a microphone at his solo performances and a few more recognizable (popular) calypso standards should be "woven" into the performance.
That being said, i still rate the performance as an overall "5," just constructive suggestions for the Georges in a library venue.

Clyde was amazing - his passion for his music showed all night long. I received many, many compliments on how much everyone enjoyed listening to him play. This was our first annual event and plan to repeat this many more times. Clyde will certainly be our #1 choice for future events.

Steelin' Jazz performed for our corporate dinner. They were prompt and organized in establishing the contract and all communications were able to be done through email. Their music provided us a Carribean theme so we had a mojito bar and everyone came casually dressed in sundresses and Hawaiian shirts. We hired them for 4 hours (6-10 p.m.) which included cocktail hour, dinner and afterwards. They were excellent! Everyone really enjoyed the music, which was perfect festive background music, as they visited. I would highly recommend Steelin' Jazz.

Clyde and guys - THANKS kindly for a great evening of music. Our 150+ guests really enjoyed your fine performance at the after wedding party we hosted for our daughter and her new husband. Steelin' Jazz was the perfect tie-in to their earlier beach wedding held in Hatteras, NC in June. Definitely professional caliber entertainment, and it looked like you guys had almost as good a time as our guests. The band did a great job and made our Memorial Day Backyard party a huge success. Because we had tons of people ranging in age from 2 to 92, Steelin Jazz was the perfect upbeat, engaging but not overly loud and overbearing addition!! I would recommend to anyone---great ensemble!!

From the initial contact with Steelin' Jazz through the completion of the event, it was a pleasure to work with this group. Their musicianship is second-to-none and their repertoire is perfect for a global audience. I would highly recommend Steelin' Jazz for corporate and private events.

We thought we would like this guy because of the professional way of our direct dealing with him in making the arrangement. Once setting and tuning up, we had the feeling that the music would be as intended. The music was not in your face steel drums, but rather provided the mood we had hoped for. This was confirmed by our 70+ guests, who were drawn to Clyde’s music. We would recommend him to any friend, but most importantly he would be invited back for another engagement.

Steelin" Jazz is a fabulous Steel Band which plays Carribean music but also many jazz standards in their distinctive, joyful style. We had them for an intimate gathering of friends at an afternoon barbecue and our next door neighbors loved them as much as we did, opening up all their windows to better hear them. The band's music was not too loud so that people could still chat with one another. They made the occasion a very special event. Our next door neighbors asked for their card since they want to have them for a party of theirs.

Stellin' Jazz made our event something it would have never been without them! They are top notch musicians, show the highest level of professionalism, and gave our wedding a soundtrack which we will never forget. The band was excellent. They sounded great, accomodated requests, took very few breaks, interacted with our guests and were a delight. I would not hesitate to hire them again.
