As "The Percussion Lady," I provide theme-based rhythm-drumming-singing-storytelling-educational events for children, families, and community groups.
My storytelling style leans toward quirky performances, focusing a lot on culturally-based stories that produce laughs, guffaws, and oh, ahhhs….
My programming, overall, is fun, interactive, highly engaging, and often times loud and boisterous! I love hand drums and other percussion/rhythmic instruments, and I provide these for use in the events I facilitate.
All my programming is modular, and I customize according to audience size, age range, length of performance, and specific preferences; for example: Do you like more storytelling? More drumming? Or a nice balance of the two? Here are several great options for party and special-event entertainment:
* Rhythm Fun & More!
* Catch the World Beat
* Community Drum Circle
* Paws & Claws—Crazy Critters of the Bush and Jungle
PLEASE NOTE: I AM willing to travel more than 100 miles for a performance/gig with an added negotiated fee for travel expenses. :-)

BACKGROUND
As "The Percussion Lady," I've made it my personal mission to engender an absolute vibrant aliveness in all my programming, performances, and special events!
I started offering my unique blend of programming—using drumming, rhythm, creative movement, story, and song—for children and families the summer of 1998. My events are hands-on, engaging, and interactive!
I've performed for a variety of events such as KGNU's Art Aloud program; Boulder Public Library's Tellabration; Colorado Cultural Connections; Cherry Creek Arts Festival; The Taste of Colorado; Denver Zoo; The Wildlife Experience; Pikes Peak Library District; Jefferson County Library; preschools such as KinderCare and La Petite Academy; and a host of private parties and special events.

We all learned so much about various percussion instruments and enjoyed the opportunity to play them...Your style and manner of presentation was very effective, drawing out the reluctant or shy child to eventually participate...Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents with us, and we look forward to having you again."

"I was talking to a young boy, maybe 8 or 9, before Helen's performance. He told me he had been going from branch to branch so he could see her show over and over again. He had seen her show at least three times, and was super excited to see it again! This was the first time I'd seen a kid respond to a program so enthusiastically."
