My act is clean, smart, and funny. "Structurally speaking," it's partially observational humor, interweaved with my own personal narrative. But basically I keep it light, keep it interesting. In my opinion the best jokes will not only make you laugh, but stick in your head the whole week. That's why I always try to take a unique perspective in my set, not take "cheap shots", and not cover subjects that have been exhausted a thousand times already (e.g. "men vs. women"). Like I said, I keep things light. I don't joke about race, sexism, etc. It's just not my particular style. I keep things fun. My personal pet peeve is comics who rely on "my miserable life" rants. At a certain point they're just... bummers. Everyone wants to be Louis C.K. (and he is my favorite comic!) but without his expert finesse that comes from 25 years of joke-writing experience, they often miss the mark and just bring people down.
