Hailing from Wayne County in Southern Illinois, Doublewide Debris is not your ordinary rock band. Combining multiple genres of outlaw-southern rock, blended perfectly with the country music genre, the band exhibits its own sultry kick-ass style that is well known and well loved by the act's constantly growing regional fan base. Influenced by a very broad and highly diverse group of famous artists such as Blackberry Smoke, The Heartless Bastards, Deep Purple, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Led Zeppelin, and Buck Owens, just to name a few, the diversity of the band's combined influences is what makes their sound completely their own.
There is one fact that remains steady; their sound is a one of a kind, a totally unique and original project; hard drivin'- riff-driven alt. country rock with intriguing story ballads; all of which are at they're indefinable best.

While guitarist and banjo player Traci Carter pounds out the majority of Doublewide Debris' signature vocals, she is joined in the band by four other rock steady musicians; Keith Chapman, who provides the remainder of the lead vocals while grinding out the lead guitar riffs, keyboard, and banjo, one of the founding members, Mark Chapman, on rhythm guitar and mandolin, Jim Garrett on drums and backup vocals, and Melinda Bruce on bass.

Founding members Mark Chapman and Carson Baker started Doublewide Debris in 2008 as an acoustic duo with Mark doing a majority of the vocals backed by Carson's solid rhythm. They were quickly joined by Mark's son, Keith, on electric lead guitar to add another dimension to the unplugged interpretations. A new idea and direction was beginning to form which brought about the next addition to the group. Having heard for many years Traci Carter sing in her unique style, Mark offered Traci an opportunity to take over lead vocals. She accepted and immediately changed the band's dynamics with her smooth to saucy vocals.

After playing several gigs, doing acoustic covers of rock and country songs, the band was ready to take it to the next level. All of the band members had been writing songs for years, and decided to begin playing their own original music. Rural Southern Illinois roots influence their style of music which they labeled “Southern Illinois Rock”. The idea was to express Doublewide Debris Southern Illinois rock style of music with a female vocalist rather than from the male dominated point of view. With this change in direction also came the decision to “plug in” and add a drummer and bass player. It's all history from there.

The band went on to record their first original album, “Seven More Days to Someday”. The debut was recorded and engineered by Dana Anthis of Anthis Productions. The album was recorded using his mobile equipment in the practice studio at the Doublewide Debris World Headquarters in Golden Gate, Illinois. The record was produced by Doublewide Debris with Dana Anthis. Through Big Red Truck Entertainment, the band's independent record label, “Seven More Days to Someday” went on to be placed on over 22,000 AMI jukeboxes nationwide and the single “Pond Creek”, both nationally and internationally, to over 5,000 broadcast, online, and satellite radio stations.

Now with the widely successful release of their debut full length album “Seven More Days to Someday” firmly under their belt, the band has recently released their sophomore effort; a new project close to their hearts and of course their souls. “Bridges Burned”, the new release from DWD is accompanied by 3 music videos featuring tracks from the album. The new record hit the streets in June of this year and is already experiencing great success.

When asked if he felt that DWD could maintain its artistic integrity while gaining increased commercial success, guitarist Mark Chapman states: “Depends on what benchmark “commercial success” has been set by the group or artist. There is a point where a certain amount of integrity is sacrificed for a certain amount of success. To achieve a higher level of commercial success requires the involvement of many people outside the artistic shell. They all want something in return for helping you gain success, so some compromising of integrity has to occur.”

Overall the basic premise that Doublewide Debris holds true as they continue to climb the ladder of commercial success is that they want people to have fun when they entertain them; Like they just left a party at a friend's house who just so happened to have a great live band perform. Citing “no Regrets” as independent artists, the band continues to move forward with great intensity to reach their goals.
“Bridges Burned” is available at CD Baby, and by digital download at iTunes, Amazon, and many other digital distribution outlets. You can follow the upward journey of this amazing rock act at their official website www.doublewidedebris.com.
