Minami and the Cyclophonics Soul Band from Seattle, WA

Minami and the Cyclophonics is a Seattle based band formed by Minami Fukuda and Dylan Hughes in 2012. Minami is a singer/songwriter/musician from Japan. More soul than you could shake a stick at. A big, beautiful voice that just won't quit. Her voice will captivate you and take you straight to the place where all music is made. She was born in Tokyo and raised in Ibaraki, Japan where she grew up singing all the time. When she came to Seattle in 2006 she met blues music. It shook her mind and captured her soul forever. After she went back to Japan in 2008, she started her career as a singer in Tokyo and had opportunities to play with great musicians such as Japanese blues harp pioneer "weeping harp" Ryuichiro Seno, Satoru Hiramatsu, runner-up of World Jazz harmonica contest and more. She came back to Seattle in 2010 and has been playing with many local artists ever since. Cyclophonics are the accumulation of all vibrations, of all of creation, humming, buzzing, banging, beating, singing, sanging, harmonizing as one all-encompassing sound. The music played as we dance carelessly through time and space; playing along, as the galaxies twist and shout; will play until long after there is no thing left to listen. The large harmonizing with the small, above in tune with below. Eddies of sound, caught in the corner pocket of our collective eardrum. Strings that breathe. Our duty is to highlight those twists and tunes with Soul-full Blues music, heart melting vocals and invigorating instrumental improvisation.
