In The Beginning I started playing guitar around the age of 12. Singing Was , natural. In those, days what caught my interest were folk songs. The Kinston Trio was my first song to sing. Later around the age of 14 I had started a rock band. At 16 I bought an electric guitar a 1962 Fender Telecaster. Through the ages of 16-18 our band did covers of J\imi Hendrix, The Doors and what ever was playing on the radio at that time. I was the lead singer and lead guitarist. Ages 18-Through 25 At 19 I went into the army it was 1969 the height of the Vietnam war. My guitar in those days was acoustic. The artists I followed then was James Taylor, Neil Diamond and the like. Ages 25 to 46, I pretty much played only acoustic guitar and sing for friends. When I turned 47 a friend told me at Karaoke. At the time I had no idea what it was. I ventured out to see what all the talk was. I found my calling singing to backing tracks. Well at that time it was your basic karaoke songs. Ages 47 –Present. At 47 years of age, my daughter who had been performing in local musical theater, advised me to research Backing Tracks. I asked what the difference was. She was a good teacher as she told me to look it up. Look it up I did. I found Alan Mcpike of Standardtrax.com. I learned backing tracks at least from his website, were of better audio quality than your basic karaoke. I have been using that service since 2013.
