Todd Smith is a soulful, acoustic singer/songwriter out of South Mississippi. For the last ten years, he has traveled around the South entertaining crowds as a solo act and with his band. He has worked with many well respected musicians and is a regular act at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Over his eight year career as a serious performer, Todd has performed over 600 shows and has released several recordings in various genres.
Todd Smith was born in South Mississippi and like many southern children, learned how to sing in his church choir. Eventually, there was a need for someone to fill in as praise and worship leader at his church, so Todd picked up a guitar and his life became about music after that. Todd recorded his first full length album in 2006 and began performing while working on his college degree. In college, Todd began drawing more on the New Orleans/MS Blues influence that he grew up surrounded by. His music incorporated sounds from great artists like Buddy Guy, Lightning Hopkins, and B.B. King, and merged those with his contemporary influences like John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and Rob Thomas.
In 2012, Todd had the honor of working with Dr. Paul Linden, a very well respected Blues harmonica player. Dr. Linden spent many years touring with Sean Costello. They shared the musical stage with legends like Buddy Guy and B.B. King. Dr. Linden approached Todd about recording an EP, so when it was time for Todd to record his original EP titled "Your Friends and Mine", Dr. Linden graciously lent his talents to the recordings.
Todd continues to write and perform at venues of allsorts. Whether it be a wedding ceremony, House of Blues, or a small intimate crowd at a beachside bar, Todd strives to constantly incorporate soul and passion into every note and performance.
