Tim Bishop was born December 8, 1967 in Hopewell Ohio. He became a fan of Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash at a very young age. He went to school at West Muskingum and started playing music in his senior year of high school. In 1987 Tim became a member of the Ohio country western music Association and started to sing at their monthly meetings. In 1988 he started a band with some friends from high school In 1990 they played under the name Hard Livin' and by 1991 he played every week at local bars, clubs and other venues He was the OCWMA king for Muskingum County in 1991 and 1992, and also state of Ohio runner up both years. In 1993 Tim moved to Nashville to work on an independent country album called "TIME AND PLACE". The album had two hit singles on it. They were "DOWN TO AN EMPTY CAN" (which peaked at number eight on airplay international charts) and "All MY BLUES ARE WEARING JEANS". It was at this time, a WV radio station introduced Tim to Legendary Producer Doc Holiday. Tim released "ALL MY BLUES ARE WEARING JEANS" on Doc's label TugBoat Records and it was number five for six weeks on independent monitor charts and was played on over 300 radio stations. From 1994 until 2002 he and his band played regularly in southeastern Ohio and West Virginia at Moose Lodges, VFWs, the AMVETS, Eagles clubs and some local bars too. In 2002 Tim's long time guitar player passed away and Tim started playing Gigs by himself. In 2007 he was inducted into the Muskingum County Country Music Hall of Fame. In 2011 With no desire to play the new style country music, Tim decided to stop playing music for a while. Then in 2016 he started playing with the local church band. This gave him the drive to go back and do what he really loved to do (playing older style country music mixed with Bluegrass and Bakersfield music) Tim Bishop "the Ohio Hillbilly" , recently completed a 12 song album with legendary producer Doc Holiday at Sony Studios Nashville. The Album titled "HONKY TONKIN" is now available on all major Download sites. He's working on a new album called Readin', Rightin', Route 23 . AND HIS BEAT GOES ON!!!!
