Texas Jack and Firefly Music Singer from Madison, CT

I, as you might have guessed, am from Texas. My musical background is quite varied - from a jazz and rock vocal ensemble early on, lead singing in a rock band for 14 yrs, and then on to several acoustic configurations playing folk, rock, country, and a fair amount of my own material. We are settling now in Madison, CT., and I am fast making musical connections with several local performers. I have performed with Ramblin' Dan Stevens at a few outdoor events last year, and have also played one season at Gourmet Bliss in Westport as well as The Black Hall Grille in Old Lyme. I have already coupled with Dan and some other talented musicians that may turn my single act into a duo or even a group down the road. For now, I am content to play my rather eclectic set of cover music as well as my own offerings. I play some Beatles, John Sebastian, Dan Hicks, Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, and many other hand picked tunes from the 60's on. I have a repertoire of traditional country as well as a few originals by some country boys that I have the privilege to sing harmony with whenever I'm back in Texas, and have written a bit in the country vein as well. My gear is up to date and I can accommodate a small to medium venue. I carry from one to three guitars with me for a variety of sounds, and a looper that allows me to play two different guitar parts at the same time. I never play too loud that people 10 feet away can't have a conversation (although I'd rather they be listening!) I look forward to enlarging my scope and playing a variety of new venues this year.
