Andres Colin is without question, one of the most popular entertainers in the area, and a very rare talent. He plays the guitar, sings, and builds songs from scratch to play a wide variety of songs ranging from Spanish guitar to Johnny Cash and everything in between. He can sing in six languages (Spanish, English, Italian, French, Portuguese, and Greek), but can also provide an all instrumental act where he plays classical guitar and flamenco. Please make sure to watch all the videos and listen to the sample songs.
Andres Colin is also available for performances as a duet, trio, or full band.
Andres Colin got his start at 12 years old, playing guitar around various cities in Mexico and absorbing different styles in the Latin oeuvre like a sponge. As his mastery of the guitar developed, so did a fascination for some far-out stuff: Themes related to science, philosophy, astronomy find their way into songs about love, loss and the way life goes.
After the release of Esta Vida, Colin relocated to the United States. He's called Sarasota his musical home for the past 9 years, performing in venues such as Mattison's City Grille, the Longboat Key Club, Ceviche, the Sarasota Yacht Club, the Boatyard Waterfront & Grill, the Hub Baja Grill, Tommy Bahama, Darwin's on 4th and a variety of festivals. While he racked up an an extensive catalogue of covers in 6 different languages, Andres still managed to nurture his own creative spark. Watch him build a song right in front of your eyes with multiple percussion instruments and guitars.
Colin has taken his music to Puerto Rico, Cuba and Western Europe as well. The title of his new album "Universal Universe” reflects a mentality that seems a natural product of worldwide travel and a keen ear for a wide range of musical styles.
“Now that I live in the U.S., I realize that music is universal,” Colin says. Much in tune with that concept, his hopes for this album truly aim for the stars, at least in a professional musician's terms.
