Biography: I have been a teacher for about 20 years. Throughout the years, my students (and teachers) have told me, "You look like Santa Claus!" So, about 10 years ago I bought a Santa suit and have been Santa for family and friends. For my 60th birthday, my family and friends sent me to The C.W. Howard Santa Claus School, the "Harvard" of schools for Santa. Since graduating, I have been Santa at many functions such as Breakfast with Santa, Christmas Eve family gatherings, and as my school Santa. Last year, I had the privilege of listening to the Christmas wishes of over 1000 children (and adults) as the evening-shift Santa at the King of Prussia Mall. Many, many parents at the King of Prussia Mall, gave me comments such as: "You are the most authentic Santa we have ever seen!" "You were really great with the children!" Great job of getting my children to sit on your lap!" I contribute all of these comments as a result of my training at The C.W. Howard Santa Claus School. WHAT TO EXPECT: HOME VISITS: A family gathering visit is usually about 30-60 minutes, but could be longer. If the family gathering is BEFORE CHRISTMAS, and young children are present, Santa will spend time with each child and ask questions such as: "Have you have been good?" "Have you been listening to your parents?" "Keeping your room clean?" "Being good to your teachers?" "Getting good grades?" "Doing your homework?" After the children answer the questions, Santa will ask the child, "What would you like for Christmas?" The child is now ready to pose for pictures. After all of the children have spent time with Santa, the adults can then pose with Santa for pictures. Adults can sit on Santa's lap, sit next to Santa, kneel in front of Santa, or stand next to Santa. If the family gathering is ON CHRISTMAS EVE, you may want to consider having a small, wrapped gift for each child and each adult. The gifts should have the name of the recipient on a tag attached to the present. ALL gifts should be placed in 2 SEPARATE plastic bags: 1 bag for children's' gifts; and 1 bag for adults' gifts, and then placed outside the door. Santa will transfer the bags of gifts into his sack before entering, and distribute them first to each child. This is the time for each child to pose for pictures with Santa. Santa will then distribute the adult gifts and pose for pictures with adults. SNEAK-A-PEEKS: Sneak-A-Peeks usually take place on Christmas Eve. During Sneak-A-Peeks, 1-2 gifts for each child are placed in a bag outside the front entrance of the home. EACH gift should have the child's name, and 1-2 "good" things about that child (Example: "Tom is so good at school." "Mary is always helping her mother.") At least 15 minutes before Santa's arrival, most of the lights should be turned off; the Christmas tree lights should remain on; and ALL of the children should be up in bed. Santa will call a few minutes prior to Santa's arrival. At that time, the children should be awakened, and led downstairs to find a place to hide QUIETLY for the "Sneak-A-Peek." Santa will enter the front door, proceed to the Christmas tree, and slowly pull out each present, while saying, "I have to say, Tom is so good at school. He deserves many gifts." "Oh, and Mary is always helping her mother." Before leaving, Santa will say, "I'm sure I had more presents for this home. I'll bet those elves forgot to put them in my sack! I'll have to stop back later tonight and leave more gifts!" PLEASE FEEL FREE TO TAKE PHOTOS, OR VIDEO THE ENTIRE VISIT. PLEASE NOTE: Sneak-A-Peeks require AT LEAST 3 HOMES in the same vicinity, and in the same time frame. EXAMPLE: 3 homes in the same block; around the corner from each other; within a few minutes of each other, AND in consecutive times times. EXAMPLE: 9:00PM; 9:15PM; 9:30PM. The TOTAL FEE will be divided by the 3 families. OFFICE PARTIES; RESTAURANT PARTIES; HOME PARTIES; TREE LIGHTINGS. Santa will mingle with guests, pose for photos with guests, and engage ALL guests in Christmas caroling! BUSINESS VISITS: Santa will mingle with customers, pose for photos with customers, and if the opportunity presents itself, engage customers in Christmas caroling! THE BOTTOM LINE: SANTA BERNARD WILL SPREAD JOY TO ALL!!! NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS: Santa Bernard has time set aside for non-profit organizations at no, or minimal fees.
