Darrin Stout & the Starlighters is a Rockabilly, Country, Rhythm and Blues, Boogie-Woogie trio that plays American Roots covers ranging from the 1940's- 1960's era with a stand-up bass player, a drummer that plays on a 1950's kit and Darrin Stout with a '53 Gibson hollowbody electric guitar as well as singing. The attire is usually vintage suits. Some of the cover songs are by early Elvis 54-56, Carl Perkins, Big Joe Turner, Bo Diddley, Buck Owens, and other obscure roots artists like Joe Clay, Sleepy LaBeef, Link Wray and Sonny Burgess. Darrin Stout & the Starlighters have a new CD release on HepCat records that's in the vein of Chris Isaak, Roy Orbison and the Everly Brothers. The live shows are filled with energetic uptempo numbers as well as emotional ballads and instrumentals.
