The Phantom Shakers Country Band from Detroit, MI

The Phantom Shakers are a traditional 1950's Rockabilly band, born in the Motor City. Formed in the winter of 2008, the Phantom Shakers consist of the four band members beginning with the one and only Elle Mae on lead vocals. Elle is an amazing talent, with exceptional voice, charm, and charisma indicative of Rock 'n' Roll's Golden Age. Local Singer/Songwriter Sista Otis, recently noted as an inspiration to American Idol stand out Crystal Bowersox, has dubbed her "The Wanda Jackson of Detroit". Next up is Guitarist Mark Longsdorf a.k.a. Markie-D is the other melodic influence in the band, bringing his own hybrid style of twangy guitar to the forefront. Their rhythm section draws upon many gifted Detroit musicians. In constant flux, the Phantom Shakers feature some of the most talented Rhythm Musicians in the Detroit area. Honorary Members include and are certainly not limited to: Gordon Meldrum Mitch Mann Johnny Mitchell James MacPhee Mike Kissick Dave Roof Scott Martin Tom Ashcraft Rayce Ribble Rockabilly music, in essence, is the purist form of what we call "Rock n' Roll" (i.e. Elvis Presley (pre 1960), Janis Martin, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Burnette, just to name a few). They are also deeply inspired by western swing greats such as Bob Wills, Ernest Tubb, Faron Young, Patsy Cline etc., as well as a mixed bag of all roots music, and also have the upmost respect for contemporaries such as Big Sandy & Fly Rite-boys, Deke Dickerson, Marti Brom, etc. The band is currently working all over the Detroit area, and on their debut record "The Ghetto Session" to be released at the 2011 Hamtramck Blowout ...
