USER is a high energy rock band with a techno edge. USER has two different sets. A Live Electronic show done with laptops, Keys and Vocals that warms a crowd up with some beats to keep the mood movin all over With the additions of drums and then bass USER transforms into full blown rock outfit. If just rock is what YU want then USER is your Band. USER also include covers from artists such as Steve Miller, Alice Cooper Bowie, Ozzy ,Elvis, The Who. Let us elaborate about what is USER. Well USER is in the vein of the more darker internal music emerging from the underbelly of today's turmoil. Never happy in one place 2 long, USER toys with the tribal to the sleeze element and then right in the back of the head with some robot rock. Occasional a little sweetness drips out of a song but it evaporates fast with the next aural assault. USER has 6 full length albums ranging from metal to medieval from jungle to hard rock. User materialized in that transitional year of 1996.USERs Semi-Mental Journey is the USER debut album from 1996. A very eclectic disc, USER explores many boundaries and sometimes explodes into a firework display of pure rebellion and symbolism. Yu may view the video CYCLOPS from SEMI MENTAL at Gigamaster. This highly visual video has recieved tons of airplay in the UK and US and rotation on Canada's Much Music. User's second disc, The Last dAys of BEauty was recorded using a cranked up and sometimes cranky(thanks JENN) personal computer and Mixed by Vince Jones(Grapes of Wrath) at UV Studios in Vancouver BC. While 2000 was a very sobering year, a lot of users had to run for cover, it also saw USER on his own and with no contributing band members. No worries, this just gave USER the time to get deep and obsessive wit his naughty computer and with lots chaos happenin inspiration, USER wuz holed up in a bombed out warehouse that he sweetly referred to as USEr MEdia Studios. Shaped like a country church, USER spent the wet BC winter recordin BAIT. An electronic album to MELT your MIND, USER travels into the dreamvoid to collect the threads of CHAOS..... BAIT is a collection of questions and answers, paying your dues and struggling to create music outside the mass media factory. a disc that is great when yer at the bitter end of the day and sleep seems like the only answer. USER delivered in JAN 2001, part1 a society split down the middle. 'Pagans & Anarchists' is a catalyst available to elevate you out of the clutches of reality and ferry you to your own fantasy world. 'Pagans & Anarchists' is aptly named for its hedonistic and Chaotic beats. The heavy hitting hard rock songs were recorded at Vancouver's historic 'Mushroom Studio' where the Ghosts of yesterday were raised and channelled to bring you that truly west coast rock sound as the recording temple of such greats as HEART, BYRAN ADAMS, BTO etc etc. Once again Vince Jones was the man at the helm, and the dynamic drums of session man AMOS RESNICK (www.mp3.com/omnibol)and studio wizard bass/guitarist SAKI KASKA(www.mp3.com/captainginger)laid down some priceless tracks. The chaotic and unique techno songs on the disc were created at USEr MEdia Studios, where the walls are still pulsing with the bass and beats while USER evoked the new with the past. This album definitely transcends the rift between rock and the computer chip and exposes the unusual battle of duality that exists everywhere in our society. In the hazy summer of 2001 USER revealed part2, a quieter and rawer side with 'Quietly, She sips her Blood' A collection of Acoustic oddities from USER outakes and dusted of tracks from the many session USER has been involved over the more quieter days. An acoustic Collection of songs spanning six years, recorded in bedrooms, closets, bathrooms and the occasional studio; it is rich in character. Many of the tracks were recorded 'live off the floor'. A great album for those tossed into the thorns of Love. In 2002 be on the lookout and have a taste of the freak new USER disc 'HEGEMONIC'. with new members Matt Van Slyke on WAR drums and Steve Nobody on 12 string DOOM bass. This is a 15 song power trio adventure that rips off the veil of todays uncertainty. HEGEMONIC IS ONE IF USERs most kikin disc and really hits it right on the head. For 2003,USERs nu video UNDERNEATH is available hi streaming style on Gigmaster for your viewing pleasure. Filmed by John Rollins and directed by USER, this baby wuz filmed all over Vancouver BC , hell we even got to use a lakeside film set of a fall horror blockbluster but we can't tell yu...yet as we have been sworn to secrecy.
