The Sonic Boomers Cover Band from Tucson, AZ

Six guys with one mission: Play the best music from the psychedelic era, and play it right. These seasoned musicians couldn’t find an outlet for their passion working as sidemen in your typical throw-together cover band, so they started their own group. The Sonic Boomers have been turning heads here in Tucson for the last couple of years. Their first full length CD features 11 classic hits from the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and the Rolling Stones, as well as several other semi-obscure songs from that magic era. Remember ‘Bus Stop’, by the Hollys? Or how about ‘The Right Place at the Wrong Time,” by Dr. John? This group will blow your mind. These are Tucson’s top session musicians, taking time out from their busy schedules to play the music they love. The group features two electric guitars, acoustic guitar, keyboards, bass, and drums, with four of the guys singing. They work out all the parts, note for note, just like the record. Then, when it’s time to perform, they take it to the next level, and magic happens. When was the last time you saw an electric sitar on stage? Or twin 12-string electrics?
