Moroccan Sheepherders Live Band from Red Bank, NJ

Tribal ambient rock with male and female vocals. Guitar and bass sounds are deep, ethereal and ambient and often bathed in effects, all built on an infectious, world-tinged soundscape of drums and unique percussion. Moroccan Sheepherders melds the modern and primitive, evolved and atavistic, polished and primal. Primitive is represented by the unbridled spontaneity, tribal beat, and savage chemistry between the Herders. Modern is represented by the liberal and intelligent use of technology to capture, enhance and assemble their sweeping open sound. The Herders produce their ambient tinged tribal rock by improvising live-in-the-studio direct to 2-track. The resulting mix is subsequently distilled down to tease out song structures. This foundation is often layered with voals. They coined this process MADJAM - 'Machine Assisted Distillation of Joyous Aural Moments.' The original spontaneous energy that emanates deep from the base of their collective skulls is captured - the final form is more systematically evolved. The songs they play live have been created in this manner. All members hail from and currently reside in New Jersey and New York.
