Make no mistake about it, 2nd Thoughts is a rock ‘n’ roll party band designed to make you shake your booty. So our typical response when people ask us what kind of band we are is to tell them we’re straight-ahead rock designed to delight, dazzle, and surprise. That being said, there are two areas in which we will smoke the competition, and therefore feel the need to strut: Gyrll Rock: The boys in the band admit it—call us boy toys, call us whipped, call us hen-pecked—angry women turn us on. So we went out and found a girl that can blaze through the rock repertoire with a voice that whispers and screams with an intensity that makes us feel like she’s ready to chew up the world and knock it on its backside. From Grace Slick to Garbage, from Janet Jackson to Heart, if a girl sang it and she sounded like she was pissed off, we play it! Power Rock: Just in case it needs to be said, we’ll say it. The boys of 2nd Thoughts know how to kick ass. And kick we will when we blaze through rock staples from the likes of Weezer, Dada, Neil Young, and REM. The basis of our sound is simple: take one of the solidest rhythm sections you can find. Pound and shape it until it’s tighter than a drum. Layer on one of the most accomplished guitar players to come down the pike in years. Then top it off with a keyboard wizard who might sweeten the sound for a little while but is just waiting for that moment when he can smoke you with a solo that will pierce your gut. In a word, 2nd Thoughts rocks.
