We play the music that made New Orleans famous! Party Gras is a dynamic five-piece Chicago band whose music makes every day Mardi Gras. The band specializes in authentic, funky New Orleans and Louisiana-style music by such artists as the Neville Brothers, Meters, Dr. John, Professor Longhair, Fats Domino and Buckwheat Zydeco with a bit of classic soul and up-tempo blues. This is music guaranteed to put a smile on your face and get your rump shaking! The band is made up of veteran Chicago musicians whose musical credits include international legends Big Joe Turner and Big Mama Thornton and popular Chicago bands like the Cathy Richardson Band, the Slammin' Watusis, the Juleps, the Fuzz-Busters, the Stingers and Scraps of Brass. Collectively, the members of Party Gras have played at House of Blues, Metro, Park West, Fitzgerald's, the Cubby Bear and U.S. Cellular Field. Their festival credits include the Long Beach Blues Festival, Sheffield Music Festival & Garden Walk, Rock Around the Block, Bucktown Arts Festival, Northalsted Market Days, Taste of Polonia and the Lincoln Square Summer Concert Series.
