Born in North Carolina, Jean has over 25 years experience in writing and 10 years speaking. She writes regularly for magazines from North Carolina to New Orleans, has ghostwritten for clients from the United States to the United Kingdom, has published three books and contributed to two: "Heart of a Toastmaster" and "My Dirty Little Secret Before Success." She writes two blogs, Celebrate Life! and The Champion's Connection Network. She has been a guest on The JoyStream TV and hosts the radio show, Celebrate Life!
In her most requested book, "She Has A Big 'But'! Get Past Your Excuses & Realize Your Dreams," she shares 15 stories of women from diverse backgrounds who chose to overcome their big 'buts' (their excuses to fail) and found success. In 2009, Jean won first place in the Alamance Reads writing contest with her short story, Warm Springs. She was nominated as a 2011 Top Ten Business Woman and 2014 Woman of the Year in the American Business Women's Association. As a speaker, Jean has achieved the highest designation in Toastmasters International, the DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster), was awarded the Helen Yandle Award and is the 2010 District 37 Evaluation Champion.
