Don Shabkie — an active composer, and classical and jazz pianist — is a versatile musician located in Greenville, South Carolina. Traveling across the state to perform in a variety of ways, his extensive education, experience, and skills establish him as an artist who can serve many communities in a number of ways. He performs as a solo pianist — in fact you can listen to samples of his playing right now. Recently he performed in Greenville for a Chopin's 200th birthday party. Sponsored by Carolina First, Mr. Shabkie performed to an overflow audience at the Westin Poinsett Hotel. As a jazz pianist, he plays regularly at the Westin Poinsett Hotel, and in many other venues across the upstate. He is available for corporate events, outdoor gatherings, and Christmas parties. He performs as a soloist or with drummer Sonny Thornton. For repertoire, refer to the song list, which has a fraction of the songs that Don performs (always without music of any kind). As a composer he has received many commissions, and composed numerous works of church music, as well as works for piano and chamber ensembles. You can listen to his compositions, or for sheet music, please visit the sheet music page, where you can purchase instrumental and choral sheet music. As a member of the prestigious SC Arts Commission Approved Artist Roster, Don travels to schools around the state to share music and arts-integrated programs with South Carolina public school students. In addition, he enjoys serving the upstate South Carolina region as a piano tuner.
