John Gilbert Entertainment One Man Band from Seattle, WA

I am a lifetime full time musician who took 6 years of classical piano training beginning at 9 years old. At 14 I took guitar lessons in learning jazz and pop music. At 15 , I started my first band and began to do gigs throughout the end of high school. At 18 , I joined a 4 piece band and worked 5 nights a week for many years. In my 20's I began to branch out doing solo gigs, duo gigs with a guitarist along with trio and full bands. In 1991 I was introduced to the concept of Dueling Piano's where I would work with another piano player taking requests back and forth , doing some live comedy and interactive sing a long. This was high energy and it would be determined by the venue as to the degree of the music and comedy routines that were performed. Originally from the East Coast, for many years I worked New York and New Jersey including Connecticut and Pennsylvania. In NY I performed at some of the highest end piano bars as a solo artist including the long running "Monkey Bar " on 54th which ran for many years. In New Jersey, I perfomed with several bands many times as a 3-4 piece. I moved to the west coast in 2004 and have worked in California before making my new home in Seattle. Presently , I am available as a solo artist to play piano for wedding cocktail hours, private parties, Anniversaries, or any live music event. I have also available a guitarist, drummer , bassist , Saxophonist, flute to enhance and build a band up to your budget. The music range is begining with the 1930's 40's 50's 60's ( Maximum 70's 80's ) for the Baby Boomers, 90's thru current music up to 2018 Music range is complete from Pop, Jazz, R+B , Classic Rock, Country. (Sorry though No Opera and very little Rap music.) In all my years, if a song was a hit, I learned it. As a solo artist I have always included at least one guitar set, playing famous acoustic artist songs such as James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Jim Croce , Harry Chapin and more. If you have a love for classic folk rock , I have the songs that you'll want to hear. I can build a musical group to your specifications and budget and do any range of music from solo, duo, trio to a full band, including a Dueling Piano Road show featuring me and another proffessional piano player to take requests, do an interactive show and interjecting comedy routines to suit the party, age range and such. With the Dueling Piano Show, it's also suggested that we have a drummer with us to add that extra punch to the party. Rates are variable depending upon distance, length of time and day of the week/ Gigs Monday thru Thursday are the most affordable as Weekends are Prime time for most parties. Saturdays will be the high range of fees with Fridays and Sundays near to it but more affordable. Depending upon your needs and budget, I can guarantee a fair affordable Entertainment package that will suit your needs, and leave your guests saying that the music and the entertainment made the party . I've been in the business 40 years at this point and have practically played for all possible venues and private events that one entertainer can play in a lifetime/ I've lived and worked in 18 different states across the country and have extensive experience in "reading a crowd" and finding the songs that will create the most successful and entertaining show. I'm flexible with distance to gigs, am fully equipped with professional sound , keyboards, guitar and a drum machine if no drummer is hired. I'm based in Seattle but willing and able to travel throughout Washington state, Oregon, California , Nevada ,Idaho and Arizona.
