I play a one-man dance band gig.
Guitar, vocals, drum machine, and bass pedal-controlled auto-arranger accompaniment. My repertoire includes the old time 50s-60s rock & roll, country rock, and assorted favorites (most requested) popular tunes from the 70s on up. I can play a total country gig, a total rock/rock 'n' roll gig, or a mix of tunes from my repertoire or pre-selected by the folks who hire me.
I play the guitar (Fender Stratocaster) on all tunes but my sound includes everything from sax to banjo & fiddle from my auto-arranger controlled by my bass pedals and footswitches. All my music is live with no pre-recording or overdubbing. Additional electronics allow me to sing two, three, and four-part harmonies live.
I have developed my arrangements to produce the sound of a 3-piece dance band. I played in (was the leader of) several rock bands over the years, but settled on a one-man band gig when the technology and equipment to support it advanced to its current state and now I don't have to worry about my bass player showing up drunk for a gig!
