Will - thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for playing our wedding in Kansas City! You are so incredibly talented, you are so easy to work with, and you were so accommodating to our special requests (learning new songs). We received so many compliments on your ceremony and cocktail hour music. Brett and I just received our video back from the wedding and were able to re-live our ceremony...your version of "Can't Help Falling in Love" when I walked down the aisle makes me cry every time I watch the video. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping to make our day so special.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What's your experience?
I perform on average about 90 private events per year, mostly within 250 miles of my home in Lincoln, NE. I've been awarded as Top Performer on Gigmasters 3 years in a row for 2015, 2016, and 2017 for excellence in music, dependability, communication, and flexibility. The events I have the most experience playing are corporate events, birthdays, private parties, cocktail hours, holiday parties, and wedding ceremonies.
What songs do you play?
I currently know 130 songs covering everything from The Beatles, to Coldplay, Johnny Cash, to John Mayer, Tom Waits, to Garth Brooks and even acoustic takes on artists like Outkast and Bruno Mars. Every singer guitarist has their own style and I believe I have done a good job at making all of the songs I play pay homage to the original while still having a signature Will Hutchison vibe to them. You can find my full current song-list at on my Gigmasters profil or at
Do you take requests?
Because learning a new song can take 5-10 hours to learn well and it is important for me to offer the most competitive rates possible I do not take requests that are not on my current song list. If there are any songs on my list that you would like to hear for sure at your event, please let me know in advance and I will make sure they are ready to go for your event.
Do you take breaks?
Performing live music, especially while singing, it is important to take breaks to make sure my performance is refreshed throughout the full event. I play 50 minute sets with a 10 minute break at the end of each set. For example, in a 3 hrs engagement starting at 6pm I would play from 6-6:50, 7-7:50 and 8-8:50.
How much to play just 15 minutes for my event?
I do, but it is the best deal for you to have me play 1-2 hrs because even my lowest rate must account for me not being able to take any normal length gigs that day.
Can you play my outdoor event in June or July?
I will happily book outdoor events in April, May, August, and September. Unfortunately, my equipment cannot reliably handle midwest temperatures and humidity most of the year so June, July, and October - March. If you have an indoor option for your cocktail hour with an outdoor ceremony this can be a good solution to still have live music.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Unless specifically mentioned during booking I always assume that I will be bringing my own sound system for my performance. I also have one wireless Mic I can bring for your use upon advance request.
How will you dress?
My normal attire for private events is black jeans and a button up shirt with blazer. If you have a specific attire request please let me know and I will accommodate if possible.
How do you decide how much to quote me?
If I am able to perform and drive home in the same day that is the biggest money saving factor in a quote. My rates go up and down based on how many gigs I currently have on my calendar, if your event falls on a major holiday, length of set time, indoor vs. outdoor, and any al la carte requests, how far in advance the Gig is booked.
