CHICAGO'S BEST KEPT SECRET! DISCOVER THE DIFFERENCE..EXPERIENCE THE PASSION: by a tremendously gifted pianist-composer of jazz and classical/contemporary music whose root influence at the piano stem back to the days when legends such as Victor Borge,Leonard Pennario and Ferrante & Teicher were making history influencing upcoming pianists of the late 1960's and early 70's like Boise Queen. While Boise Queen's jazz piano voicing and style might show heavy "McCoy Tyner" influence; his pop ballad performances shows a remakeable amount of classical nationalism mixed in that's reminscent of some of the greatest composers of works for the piano of the early 20th century such as Sergei Rachmaninoff,Prokofiev etc. Boise's performances are so musically sensitive and specific in its portrayal of the quality that drives its wide appeal to everything that he play's; it would take nothing less than a regular acoustic grand piano to pull off the right touch tempered tonality that the listener can appreciate and be expected to hear. Its for this reason alone that people who intend on hiring Boise's performance should do so with the strongest intent on booking his performance on a regular acoustic freshly tuned grand piano. Believe me! It's worth the extra effort to do so if your looking for a pianist of his calibre. Boise Queen is a professional pianist not a keyboardist when it comes to his solo performances. He demonstrates this not only at the piano but also in his pricing by giving out huge discounts off his regular fee to serious clientele that can book his performance on an acoustic grand piano. In remembrance about one recent question he was asked as to whether or not he would perform a classical piece on a keyboard Boise's reply was: " Ask any parent of a nine or ten year old music school student how it would set in their conscience to have their son or daughter seated at a keyboard on stage prepared to perform a Beethoven or Chopin piano sonata recital instead of at an actual acoustic piano. Why then would anyone who would be concerned with the quality and integrity of the music would pay a professional to do it; unless of course it was strictly as a matter of convenience?" As he once quoted an aging high school geometry teacher as saying: "You can't cut corners out of a perfect square fit and expect to have all the right angles!" When you sit back and listen to what Boise can do with compositions by Duke Ellington, Sammy Kahn or to songs often sung by Frank Sinatra, Nat (King) Cole or Debbie Reynolds; you will discover the difference for yourself. You will also discover why Boise is looking for that "near perfect union"between client and performer",one that is searching for a pianist of Boise's abilities as well as Boise's search for a client that will love and support his music. Once reiterating a quote that his dad favored for years as saying: " If you can't count on pleasing everybody, then at least count on pleasing everybody that "counts". Boise Queen is certainly no stranger to the Chicago circuit. He has performed with such legends as Milt Trenier and the late Billy Gardener Trio. He once opened for the famed "Cloris Leachman"in an awards dinner tribute sponsored by American Airlines and has been highly recommended as featured performing artist at a wealth of private special events, award dinner ceremonies, fundraisers and holiday festivities throughout the midwest for the past 30 years. Its for this reason that if one were to weigh in the "quality" inherent in Boise's playing alongside the "value" in acquiring this form of art for their next event; one can easily walk away knowing that they've acquired the best of both worlds, from a pair of hands that can do a lot more than just play a song. SPECIAL UPDATE: BE SURE TO ENGAGE YOUR SPEAKERS BEFORE ENTERING HIS WEBSITE; AS EACH PAGE AUTO-ENGAGES THE MUSIC UPON OPENING. His website opens and displays best in Internet Explorer. Boise Queen is scheduled to perform his"Jazz Piano Legends Concert" performing at Joplin's Java Ragtime Cafe 114 S. Genesee St., Waukegan ,IL on Nov.5,2010 @7:30pm (See his website for details and tix). Boise Queen is also a composer and arranger of some of the most emotionally moving piano compositions available. His newest CD "Classic Live" features a special piano and orchestra adaptation of Leonard Bernstein's "Somewhere" From Westside Story. What you'll see and hear in Boise Queen's performances will identify his relationship with music as being an excellent performer at the piano. Boise is one of a few pianists that can perform both classical and jazz interchangeably on a virtuoso quality scale. Boise Queen's performances is like a fine glass of vintage wine; selectively enriching audience appeal looking for that traditional"classic virtuoso" performer offering a wide margin of substance and full bodied freshness for the listener without compromising the aftertaste of the avid conversationalist in a reception setting. Boise's solo piano performance style is clean, polished and most of all "natural".Stated in a recent press release interview of the Wednesday Journal:"I'm confident about what my music has to offer. I feel that people should want to hire you for the way you sound and what is music without it? They can't hear a degree or an award but they can hear the music and what it does for the soul of an individual. Music is an artform meant to be heard to be believed, appreciated and supported." Boise's performance does what its supposed to do for the listener, free of any gimmicks or props. His performance sells itself! Boise often divides his public performance availability with that of composing original works from small group ensemble to full scale piano and orchestra, such as his new "American Concerto for Stage and Film" subtitled "Day After the Dawn". Boise is often noted for diligently working with clientele on a tight budget. If a client shows a genuine interest in Boise's performance, Boise will often research his travel itinerary to come up with cost cutting ways & means that will allow him to perform for that client at a price more in line with their budget. Boise is a seasoned musician who is well aware of what most of his clientele expect from a professional performance. Boise's performance style and technique at the piano has proven to be ideally suited for clientele and their guests looking to appreciate and support music played to "entertain" not just exclusively to offer a functional backdrop ambiance. He is also aware that most of the clientele who eventually hire his performance are usually very smart and somewhat experienced enough to know that sometimes general site ratings are not always in sync with past client reviews or the quality of music performance that any one particular client might be looking for regarding a specific event. Cocktail PartyReviewed on December 21, 2009From Bloomington, IL

Boise Queen’s performance was perfect and he was wonderfully accommodating at our Christmas cocktail party, keeping the music entertainment lively with many song variations. Everyone enjoyed his fantastic talent and I received many, many compliments from our guests on how much they enjoyed him. Many guests gathered around for the fun of watching and listening to him play, while at the same time others in the room were able to hold social conversations because his music was not overwhelming. I cannot recommend Boise enough for anyone needing such fine music entertainment. I hope he will accept our invitation to return sometime. He is the best!
