Ken Brown plays guitar, dobro, and/or bass with a variety of Alaska bands. He currently plays with Fairbanks, Alaska groups: Rural Delivery (hard-drivin' bluegrass, Americana, & hillbilly jazz), Earl Hughes & the Alaska Opry (smooth classic country & originals by Alaska's Official Ambassador of Country Music, Earl Hughes), Quartermoon (popular Sixties, Seventies, and Variety), Chile Gumbo (a spicy combination of Cajun and Tex-Mex with Jean McDermott), and Jeff Siniscalchi's Blues Band (which plays electric AND ecletic blues tunes). He has also played with the smokin', and I mean smokin', Keith Junot Band in Anchorage (perhaps the best all-around band in Alaska).
Ken previously played with Alaskan bands Ungak & the Maklaks and the Chevak Fiddle Band, and with Oregon bands Sidekicks, Pumpkin Ridge, Daddy's Advice, and Nightly Bluegrass Report.
If you're looking for a specific type of band, Ken can put it together for you, from traditional bluegrass or Celtic to western swing, blues, country rock, or classic rock'n'roll, using Ken's many music connections around Alaska and in the Northwest (WA and OR). With Earl Hughes, who played pedal steel for Don Ho for 8 years, we can even do Hawaiian music!
