Walkaround or Close-up Magic Illusions are performed right in front of the audiences nose. Usually for one to twenty people in a casual situation. This is a more intimate setting that is typically no more than ten feet from the audience and is sometimes performed while sitting at a table or standing right next to the spectators. Parlor Magic Parlor magic is performed for more people than a close up setting but less people than would be required for a full on stage show. The beautiful thing about Parlor magic is the ability to perform variations on both stage and close-up magic. It is kind of the best of both worlds. This is the point in which you can start seeing effects like the straight jacket escape, or an east Indian needle swallow. Stage Magic: One of the oldest styles of magic in the world. The conjurer will get up on stage for an audience of 100 or upwards of 1000 people and perform the impossible. This type of show lends itself to bigger effects that can be seen from a distance.
