Peachtree Jazz Edition is described as “one of the best bands in Atlanta.” This 17 member big band, featuring award winning vocalist, Toni Byrd, performs swing favorites of the 30s, 40s, as well as modern contemporary tunes with that classic easy listening dance style. Tunes made famous by the masters such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and more! Peachtree Jazz Edition owns and performs original arrangements written by band member and trombonist, Bill Greenhaw, and also plays many Latin tunes that are always favorites of the ballroom dance crowds.
In 2009 Jazz 91.9 Atlanta Jazz Radio presented a 35th Anniversary Jazz Concert hosted by Actor and Humanitarian, Danny Glover, featuring 10 time Grammy Award winning Gospel Sextet Take 6, along with The Peachtree Jazz Edition as the opening act, at the Rialto Theater in Atlanta, Georgia. The following year the band opened for jazz trombonist, Wycliff Gordon, at the Fayetteville Amphitheater in Fayetteville, Georgia now known as Zac Brown's Southern Grounds Amphitheater. Peachtree Jazz Edition has performed many events at popular venues in and around Atlanta including The Georgia Aquarium, The Georgian Terrace, The Buckhead Theater, The Havana Club, Druid Hills Country Club, The Fox Theater (Egyptian Room), and Spivey Hall to mention a few.
