Sophia Lazopoulou Jazz Band from College Point, NY

Sophia is an award winning and internationally acclaimed vocalist who has been singing professionally for over 10 years. She got her musical education at BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC where she studied under a Berklee scholarship. During her long career she sang in numerous jazz clubs,piano bars,music halls,hotels,resorts(like the 'HYATT REGENCY', the 'Colonial Inn' and many more),sang backround vocals in a lot of recording albums and also got 1ST and 2ND prize awards at international vocal competitions such as the 'SARANDEV'-1st place for 'BEST VOCALIST',2001-and the 'DISCOVERY'.-2nd place-2002. She also released her solo album in 2002,entitled'Journey to a dream',in which she wrote a lot of her own songs. She sings with her trio/quartet and all of the musicians in the group,have a Berklee College of music backround. They have a very big and versatile repertoire which includes jazz standards,blues,latin jazz and pop,specializing in ballads. The quality of their music and soulful vocals is what sets them apart from everybody else. They are available as a duo/trio/quartet or quintet. Sophia is considered to be one of a few,most promising vocalists,with a deluxe,velvet voice who has conquered outstanding,musical achievements of the highest level.
