Michael Tarro - Pianist Pianist from Coventry, RI

Michael Tarro is a pianist, author, composer, and teacher. He started taking piano lessons at six years old, and continued throughout high school. focusing on popular, classical, ragtime & jazz piano styles. In college, he continued his studies in piano, composition, and orchestration. After completing his college studies he toured with a nine piece show band, performing concerts throughout the US and Canada. Michael is a three time author, including his most recent book "Teach Yourself to Play Blues and Boogie Piano", published by Hal Leonard. His other publications are: " Creative Jazz Piano Arranging", and a string quartet arrangement of "Over the Rainbow". Michael's advertising credits include commercials written and produced for Doritos, Johnson & Wales University, and Arlington RV, to name a few. His original soundtracks were used in the movies "The Package", and "In Passing". His repertoire consists of a wide variety of music including: popular, show tunes, jazz, blues & boogie, and big band standards. He is currently writing scores, and performing with the Ocean State Pops Orchestra, as well as appearances at the Warwick Mall in RI, as a soloist, and duo.
