YOUNG CLASSIC CROONER MATT BARBER has been touring the U.S. coast to coast since 2005, performing the best Jazz, Pop, and Variety from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond! With a classic vocal style reminiscent of Barry Manilow and Michael Buble, Matt delivers songs from yesterday and today with a sincere, meaningful approach. Matt's repertoire includes fun classics by artists such as Andy Williams, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke, Michael Buble, Frankie Valli and many more! Since 2005, Matt has performed over 300 shows annually at festivals, wineries, ballroom events and upscale retirement communities. Matt has had the honor of performing at The Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA, Andy Williams' Moon River Grill Restaurant in Branson, MO, and The Illinois State Fair in Springfield, IL. The #1 reason you want to book Matt for your event: Matt Barber is a class act. Every time Matt puts on a show, a common response from an audience member will be "when are you coming back?" He is always asked back, every time. He provides a fun, unique, and uplifting experience that your guests will be talking about for weeks. Matt's show, known as "The Matt Barber Experience" consists of "fun, upbeat, and relaxing music from the heart." Matt provides an extensive repertoire of music, making for a fun, relaxing, and interesting experience for a romantic evening with that special person, or a fun night which you can bring your whole family to enjoy. "If I can help people forget their problems, feel uplifted, and bring them some happiness, then I've done my job," says Matt. Matt was born in Peoria, Illinois, and took a deep interest in singing at the age of 10, listening to his dad Mark, a DJ on Oldies 101.3 KUUL-FM in the Quad Cities. Matt sang in school and church, and was exposed to music through his grandmothers who grew up during the Big Band Area, and his mother, an amazing pianist. During high school, Matt began to hewn his craft by performing at various venues, such as coffee houses and Borders Bookstores. From attending school during the day and performing on a regular basis at night, he planned his first major US Tour. Since his debut album release in 2003, Matt has released 8 albums, the latest 4 produced by Daniel Dennis in Nashville, TN. Matt has received national airplay on a variety of stations including KJAZZ (KKJZ) 88.1 FM in Los Angeles. Matt performs a solid 60-90 minute solo show. Matt's solo performances feature professional uniquely stylized accompaniment. This has allowed Matt to provide a high caliber of entertainment at a more reasonable price than using a full band. Other popular options include: Trio (piano / bass / drums) Quartet (piano / bass / drums / guitar) Other options are available as well. Please enquire for prices on specific instrumentation. Matt's performances are perfect for a variety of venues including private parties, festivals, wineries, resorts, hotels, country clubs, resorts, reunions, VFWs, and other fraternal organizations, birthdays, colleges, holiday shows, TV and Movie soundtracks, and studio session work. While Matt is based in Los Angeles, MATT PERFORMS NATIONALLY and is willing to travel within and outside of the US. Matt represents a "best buy" in entertainment - rates vary based on length of performance and travel distance. Here's what other people are saying about Matt: "Check out all of Matt Barber's videos and recordings. He brings the same passion and artistic qualities to his music and shows as the great performers that have come before him. Don't miss his one of a kind music, videos, and performances!" --Day Kelly (former Trumpet Player for Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, and Bob Hope) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "It is my pleasure to recommend to you Mr. Matt Barber. I always make it a point to book him for an afternoon or evening when I find he is in the Los Angeles area. Matt is an extremely professional artist, has a kind and engaging personality, and great talent. You will not be disappointed in engaging him as a performer for any audience or venue. --Carole Crook, Resident Programs Coordinator, Santa Monica, CA" --------------------------------------------------------------------------- “This was the best program we have ever had. The music, the equipment, the professionalism...THE BEST!” --The Terrace, Columbia, MO --------------------------------- "We all enjoy the music and styling of Matt Barber we play on KRLI. Much, if not all the selections on his "Romancing Nashville" CD. I have also enjoyed two of Matt's live shows." --Mike Carter (Owner & Music Historian, KRLI-FM - Carrollton, MO)
