Originally from Chicago's south side, he has performed with an array of well-known artists, representing a broad musical spectrum. Such greats as George Benson, Marvin Gaye, Jr. Wells, Otis Rush, Stephen Stills, Mick Fleetwood, Jonn Serrie, Elvin Bishop, & groups like The Neville Brothers, Indigo Girls, & members of Santana, Sly & the Family Stone, EW&F, etc...
The band has opened concerts for Chicago, Joe Sample, Bruce Hornsby, Bob James, Taj Mahal, Marcus Miller, Jeffery Osborne, Esperanza Spalding, Wayne Shorter, and many others, as well as performing at the last Crater Festival, inside Diamond Head, Hawaii.
In Atlanta, the Steven Charles Band has been featured at The Atlanta Jazz Festival, The Trumpet Awards, "Kingfest" at The Martin Luther King Jr. Center, Taste of Atlanta, PGA National Championship Awards, SCLC's 50th Anniversary Gala, feat. Barack Obama, DeKalb County Jazz Festival, Centennial Olympic Park, & even a solo National Anthem performance at a Falcons-49ers Monday Night Football game inside the Georgia Dome.
