The Mefford-Lavine piano-clarinet duo is rooted in the rhythms and harmonies of the swing era. At times, they inspire an atmosphere of relaxed elegance, at other times, the insatiable urge to dance. Their influences stem from the 20s, 30s and 40s -- catchy Fats Waller tunes that bring a smile to your face, swingin' Benny Goodman songs that get you on your feet dancing, and timeless Duke Ellington compositions that call up the range of human emotions. Set your guests at ease at a cocktail hour or art opening or get them dancing as the party heats up! Will Mefford (piano) and Jennie Lavine (clarinet) live in Ann Arbor, MI and have a weekly Sunday evening gig at Silvio's Organic Pizza. They enjoy playing for swing dances, as well.
