The SoBo Four Jazz Band from Denver, CO

A jazz quartet that's just right, The SoBo Four performs around the Denver metro area at music clubs, cafes, restaurants and community events. Prepared with a strong repertoire of jazz standards and contemporary jazz, as well as original compositions, The SoBo Four brings together saxophonist Yasuo Ishikawa, bassist Derek Woodbury, drummer Brian Mixon and pianist Zach Holcomb as a talented, tight-knit group of musicians with a focus on professionalism and a great sound. The quartet released their first CD together, The G.K. Story, in June 2013, with a sold-out CD release party at Dazzle Jazz. Justin Adams, their former ensemble director, performed on the recording as the band's guest pianist when Holcomb was unavailable. The sophisticated CD, available on disc and digital download, features original compositions by Ishikawa and his late music teacher, George Keith. The SoBo Four is the the right band to provide sophisticated jazz music for events and venues of all sizes, indoor or outdoor, formal or casual, from intimate parties to large corporate receptions and nonprofit fundraisers.
